I like Supernatural and I think the upcoming 10th season should be its last

Unfortunately, the show ever since then has meandered and dragged its way through the seasons without much change in the way of character development. Sam and Dean can only go through the whole break-up-and-make-up routine so many times before it gets stale and that time came and went four seasons ago. Team Free Will has become caught in its own status quo, always gravitating back to the brothers and Castiel riding around killing the bad guys no matter what goes wrong. Its formulaic at this point and disappointingly stagnant.
They've missed some golden opportunities to add some new character drama to the equation. For example, and this has always bothered me, in 'Slice Girls' when Dean fathered a super strong Amazon named Emma that grew to the physical and apparent mental age of sixteen in the span of three days... and rather than exploring such a character and Dean's relationship with her in the long term, Sam killed her in the very same episode... Wasted potential that really could have shaken up the team's stale dynamic not unlike Castiel did when he was first introduced.
When was the last time Supernatural introduced a new major character that lasted longer than a season anyway?
What the finale of season 9 actually did right: As Crowley said, "Its all become so... Expected." But now we have Dean as a Knight of Hell, driven to murderous ends by the Mark of Cain and the First Blade. He's well poised to become the Big Bad of season 10, which pits him and Sam against one another in a conflict that could prove to be one of the most interesting seasons since Kripke's original five year plan ran out... Which is why I think it would be a great ending note. This is ultimate reversal for Supernatural, Sam and Dean fighting against one another as the primary conflict. Such a thing should end with a note of finality, not spend another five seasons trying to find itself again as the writers contrive a new villain to top what looks to be a Dean/Crowley team up.
A well executed ending is better than stumbling on indefinitely.

I hear you. Unfortunately there really isn't anything else out right now that satisfies my monster hunting contemporary fantasy itch. Even so, Supernatural really needs to end.Thats some title yo! but srsly I also like Supernatural but it should of ended at season 5.

It clearly did end at Season 5, based on what we've seen every season after as the writers literally just make it up.

I have been watching actually, though honestly it doesn't scratch the same itch. I preferred old Supernatural (And Angel before it) because it was actually about fighting evil and saving the world. Lost Girl just feels a lot less focused.Have you tried Lost Girl? Lost Girl > Supernatural IMO

To each his own. I've only watched the first 4 and a half seasons of Supernatural so far, but I've always liked the episodes with angels and demons in them less than the episodes without them. That episode with the shape shifter who wants to be a movie monster, that's my favorite type.

Hey, hey gaiz!
You know what would be totally cool and ****!?
A Supernatural *wait for it* ANIME!!!
With squeaky jpop intro, badass baritone japdude voice acting (in japanese of course, because only losers watch dubs!) and omnipresent 3D rendered monsters of the week that are defeated by the power of love, friendship and .338 Lapua Magnum!
YAY

I remember feeling that way too, but it helped that there was an overarching threat and I did enjoy some of it. Or maybe the way later seasons handled the monster business simply gave me rose tinted glasses for the demon episodes. I said even the earlier episodes have problems. To each his own. My issue with Lost Girl is that it tends to have one of the same problems as seasons 6-7 Supernatural, lots of running around not really understanding what's going on, feeling a bit aimless.

No way, as much as I love Kenzi... Lost Girl isn't a show that I can really take too seriously. It just feels all too... girly. Bit like many of the vampire franchises these days, silly drama and awkward moments.
I could watch Castiel/Dean/Crowley humor till the end of my days though, those three are what keep me in the show ![]()

I love Supernatural. The first 5 seasons were REALLY good, and even after that it was still good. However, there are a plenty of flaws and problems it has faced. The biggest of which (IMO) is that it just can't seem to find a long-lasting focus. I think the DEAN-MON conflict can really spice things up things. If done right, I think it can be one of the most compelling seasons ever. If they can think of something just as good as the juicy DEAN-MON arc, let them do an 11th. If they can't, it should really come to a close. It feels dry and worn-out now. Angels and demons are more-or-less canon fodder!
To summarize: Dean REEEAAALLY needs a beard for season 10.

I don't think there really is a way for the writers to come up with a conflict as compelling as murderous Demon-Dean (Assuming it lives up to its potential) considering the level of skill they've shown so far.I love Supernatural. The first couple of episodes of penny dreadful were awesome, you may want to try it, if you haven't already.

lol no I do watch that show, but it is ridiculous. The only reason why I keep watching it is watch Anna Silk kiss girls and look hot and to also watch Ksenia Solo looking hot.

Nooo. I love the characters, but the plotting and low budget really kills the show. Twice now they've had to fight an "Epic Big Bad" in an abandoned school or brickyard where the final confrontation was one poorly choreographed fight with extras and no FX. They really need to learn to write to their budget.
Supernatural is stale because of the fangirls. For years they've refused to accept any change in the brothers status because that hurts their fan fiction fantasies. The writers should've grown some balls and the story years ago.

^This isn't new for CW.
Clark fought Darkseid in a barn that lasted 5 seconds at the end of Smallville.

I have and I like it. My Gothic Victorian itch is just distinct from my snarky monster hunting itch. The first couple of episodes of penny dreadful were awesome, you may want to try it, if you haven't already.

The episode with the shapeshifter taking on the guises of movie monsters is one that always sticks in my mind.
That moment of Dracula/Shapeshifter fleeing on a scooter...honking his horn in defiance at the Winchesters, who ruined his plan.

Lost Girl isn't a CW show though. At least the barn makes sense in Smallville, it's his Fortress of Solitude. And they had effects, they destroyed the place, people flew. The "locations" for those final fights in Lost Girl looked like someone drove past a place and said "Hey! I bet we can get that cheap!". And the fights remind me of some surreal kabuki where people mime what's happening and the audience is supposed to fill in the blanks.
