When recently replaying ME1, for the first time I paid attention to the background music in the Citadel, especially Presidium. Despite the serenity of the area, the music is very subtly foreboding, even dreadful at certain points. Nice to discover such subtle hints of the true nature of the Citadel, which didn't come to light until near the end of game. Citadel tower too has rather sinister music but Presidium beats that imo.
They did a good job with the music as far as creating mood and atmosphere in ME1.

One of my favorite parts of the whole series is being able to run about the Citadel in the first game. I'm going to do a play through again and will definitely pay closer attention to the music.
