Maybe it's browser related? I just checked and the website works fine with firefox but with IE it loads really slowly.

That's exactly what the problem is.

The site doesn't work for me in Opera at all (I know, I'm in the minority), but it works fine for me in Firefox, IE and Chrome. I haven't tried Safari on my iPad yet.

Honestly, it is a really nice website. However, I think it would have been more usable if they had created an alternate version that was cross-browser compatible. Basically a "dumbed down", more static version. They could have even done a browser detect for ones they know have issues displaying this content.

HTML is compatible with every single major / mainstream browser in existence...

*sigh* Sure, html is. Why don't you take a look-see at the source code of the main page, and let me know if it's just html.  ;)

I've been a web developer for 18 years. I just might have an idea what I'm talking about.

I have no issues with the website and it is never slow for me. Maybe it's your browser or internet and not the website.

Some dynamic elements and Iframes (which are html i know) from a quick glance.  I guess they could have had a static images version but that would have been more work for relatively little gain and potentially could have taken away development resources from those making the Keep, which is also a website.  I was more concerned with the people having problems on the mobile side as I have never had any success with the bloatware browser included on the device, half the time they won't load Wikipedia or google; there are also many more of those.

There is a lot of JavaScript, and I see some improperly formatted tags, but the real issue is simply that it's not cross-browser compatible. We know this, because it works in some browsers, and not in others. For me, it doesn't work in Opera, but it works in Firefox, Chrome, Safari (iPad), etc. It's the same internet connection, so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

If I had to guess, there are probably browsers that they targeted/tested against, and once they knew those worked, let the other ones go. That's the tough thing about web development; without workarounds, browser detects and hacks, you're bound to have issues once you raise the complexity of the page code to that level. And even then, you still have to worry about which version of each browser you're willing to support. Believe it or not, there are people still using old browsers, old OS, old plug-ins; heck, some people even have Javascript turned off. Not to mention the havoc anti-virus software can wreak. A slow net connection certainly doesn't help, either.

The takeaway is to probably just try another browser, until you find one that works. I'm sure that in the big scheme of things, messing with that site's compatibility is probably lower on their totem pole. :)

The website's mission is not to give us information, it is to make more people buy the game.

As long as it is smooth, it must be PRETTY FIRST, informative latter. So if the way they have done it makes navigation for info a nightmare, I dont think it is a big issue.

It has to attact and call people to buy the game.

When I first loaded it, and directly saw the trailer embebed, and everything was pretty and directly presented me with awesome footage, I just felt proud of them.

Good job!

I like the new website. I love checking the News tab for new codex type entries.

The website is fine. If you're new to the series you can still get to the DAO and DAII sites, or buy the games :)

I actually spoke too soon: it crashed a little while after I said that. Apparently I jinxed myself. >.<

When the new website first launched it was indeed very slow, but now it has an average speed.

I had problems with it using the PS4 browser. I don't know if the PS4 or the site.

I have no issues viewing the website in Chrome on my PC. Using the same wireless connection on my Galaxy Tab, the website crashes Firefox.

The website had been crashing Chrome on my Droid MAXX smartphone, but it seems to have been updated to have a less resource-intensive mobile version that works. :)

It crashed Safari on this iPad a minute ago.

Same here. I only experience trouble when I use my iPad. It works fine on my laptop and desktop using Chrome and Firefox.

Your browser has cached most of the images on the site by now most likely.
