Morality systems in general are usually very limiting and indiscreet for how they want you to choose options. The morality system in Mass Effect especially was very one-sided and blatant with what you were 'supposed' to choose.

Ditto this. DAO and KoTOR at least let you do whatever so long as you wanted to deal with the consequences.

Then the post EC saying it was originally a "reward" for players who went the extra mile, but now that they were in post-release it was available to everyone...

it was just annoying that with the content that was available at that time that Bioware continued to live in delusion. They'd gotten it wrong and wouldn't believe otherwise.

I would say thank goodness that they released the Extended Cut but you shouldn't need DLC to access single player content in the vanilla game.

Did anyone ever check the EMS level with all DLC installed? It didn't work with only From Ashes, but it might work with the rest.

It would since Levi and Omega add tons of fat resources, but the EMS change happened much earlier then either of those were released so doesn't make any difference

They just wanted to encourage people to try it out. It was probably wrong, and I doubt they would do exactly the same thing again, but at the same time there are quite a few people who would never have tried MP and ended up liking it otherwise.

EMS was the only realistic way I could see the game acknowledging all our different decisions without having to make ie. 300 different ending videos.

The bad thing was that there were only 12-15 very slightly different endings (all variations?).

1. shep dies, squadmates survive, some people die in the galaxy.

2. shep dies, squadmates survive, some people die in the galaxy.

3. shep dies, squadmates survive, some more people die in the galaxy.

...

X. shep. allmost dies, squadmates survive, some more people die in the galaxy.

EMS feels unimportant because the outcomes are too similar.

...

Personally I like the multiplayer alot, not spending money on it though, but I find it entertaining. I do find it silly though for force anyone to play it. That was a low blow.

No "probably" about it
