You can't push emotions onto the character because it's not supposed to be a fixed reaction. This means that things get underplayed in cutscenes because of that.

Bioware characters exist in a sort of limbo between a fully realised character like Geralt and the old school characters pre voice acting and cutscenes.

There is also no continuity so the characters mood does not carry from one scene to the next and things seem abrupt.

In games like DA I don't need my character to feel, my feelings are character feeling.

Dragon Age 2 had a lot of crying...

..from me.

..constantly.

...for the wrong reasons.

I agree, I hope that there is more emotional range of options from the character.

Case in point - hugging a certain character in Walking Dead Season 2 from Telltale. I have no idea what the other options are then - I pounced on that the second I saw it. Player agency with emotional moments can be mammoth pay offs.

(Monotone) Why cry when you are at eternal peace and tranquility?

The best PC emoting in DA2 was the scene in Mark of the Assassin when you're trying to get past the guards.

I'll skip the tears, though--my personal emotional outbreaks are not very dignified and nobody needs to see that.
