The Arrow (TV Show) fights well with a bow. But truthfully I don't think anyone will see it as worthwhile to do that in DA:I. Perhaps the next one, if there is one , that will be next gen only. 

 

But there are going to be all sorts of limits because the game is cross-gen.

Considering how agile they've made rogues, using a bow like a melee weapon similar to the way Oliver uses his on Arrow should be reasonable and not a immersion breaker.

Using a bow like a bludgeon though reduces its longevity- you don't hit someone over the head with your spell book as a  mage if they get to close, because that would remove your chief weapon.

Have you seen some of the tomes in the Harry Potter universe?  You could knock out a balrog with those things. :P

Pfft, fantasy teaches us that magic explains everything.  With magic, bows needn't break at all when used as blunt instruments.

Ehn. But that's why Archers historically used knives, swords, hell, even hammers- they're weapons designed for face borking instead of pew pew.
