So... the slides explicitly show that they're weakened, but still alive, and on Tuchanka then, and not actually dead, and you just think they'll die.

I guess I can see the glimmer of hope...

Especially in my personal favorite.

The game makes it clear that sabotaging the cure dooms them in the war. Anything about them potentially getting sympathy and the cure being implemented in the future simply has no support in the game's epilogue. They're more than just weakened; they're done for.

Too many barbarians. Not enough scientists.

I imagine the salarians kept such tight control over this data, because even when some of the krogan paid an outside firm to figure it out for them, they still failed.

Unless you pick Synthesis apparently.

Yeah Synthesis is the exception.

Naive, no.

It's heroic!

There were a few funny instances where Paragon Shepard got swatted down instantly.

[regarding recruiting the ABC merc groups for the Reaper war]
Shepard: "Give a criminal a gun, and they'll shoot you in the back."
Aria: "They already have guns, Shepard."

Aren't you missing the one where the Krogan walk through a door and on to Tuchanka? That's the slide I see that shows up along with the ones you have posted, that indicates they are still alive.

Also, anything about a Genophage cure afterwards wouldn't be in the epilogue, that's just how I see it playing out. Epilogue doesn't really show much of anything past the near future for each group.

Man come on, the Rachni are invading the planet. They clearly want the planet. The Krogan who once enjoyed fighting the Rachni are nowhere in sight to oppose the invasion. There are no good implications from this.

No, I'm not missing those, because the final state is what counts. There's no reason to show imagery like this unless it's to illustrate what becomes of them, especially when they can be seen repopulating and rebuilding Tuchanka in the alternate Destroy or Control slides. The only way the krogan survive the sabotage is if you pick Synthesis. Any other ending, no.

This is why Synthesis was the happy ending to the story. Everyone was happy. Krogan, rachni, Geth, EDI, Joker, their 12 iChildren, and the Reapers. Your LI? Not so much. That was the "bitter" part of it.

Meh, nuts to their green and rainbows. Their happiness doesn't compare to dead reapers :P

ESPERANZA SHEPARD, QUEEN OF THE REAPERS. BwaaaaaaaAAAA!

....Sorry. It's been way too long since I've had an excuse to do that. (Go paragade Control!) Anyway, I'm inclined to think if they show you slides with dead or nonexistent krogan, it's because the krogan are, if not outright extinct in a few generations, going down fast.

Then there's the matter of ridiculously long krogan generations...

So, they're REALLY OBVIOUSLY dying out, and they're still infected with the Genophage which is now obviously no longer needed (and is now a symbol of Council/Human oppression and why they can't be trusted), and most of the galaxy is gratefull for their help in the Reaper War, and the people in charge of maintaining the Genophage like Mordin and Maelon are sympathetic to their cause. I mean, in this state not even Mordin can justify the Genophage as stabilizing Krogan numbers. The Krogan aren't going to be rebuilding Tuchanka soon, but I think my sympathy/random cure idea still had legs.

You go ahead and enjoy your favorite picture.

If the cure is sabotaged under Wrex, he withdraws his forces and they hunker down on Tuchanka, ready to watch the rest of the galaxy burn. Whatever the reason, no one is going to have sympathy for them after that. If it's sabotaged under Wreav, no one's the wiser except Shepard, possibly Garrus, the salarian leadership and a surviving Mordin or Padok. That the genophage is no longer needed is anything but obvious. Even in ME3, we have every indication that the krogan could still be a problem, even under Wrex and Eve.

This makes me see the great value in Dragon Age: Origins' text epilogue.

Sabotaging the Cure does not automatically equal extinction for the Krogan. They may become a race of clones, but they will not go extinct. Regardless of your choice, the Krogan will continue via cure or cloning.

I guess that means the Protheans aren't extinct because the Reapers cloned them.

Yeah, it'd be hard to convey things like dwarves kidnapping surfacers for conversion into Golems (Harrowmont/PreserveAnvil) without that text.

No, Shepard killed them. No one is making clones of them anymore... unless Javik is plotting something. Never trust something with four eyes and glows green.

Nope, the Citadel DLC confirms the Collectors are still taking part in the war. Apparently they were involved in fighting on Thessia.

The chances of them going extinct are far greater than anyone even caring to clone them. The only times anyone ever really wanted to do so was when the krogan were to be used as cannon fodder. The krogan themselves don't have the capacity to do it, and no one else is going to bother for some altruistic purpose. The krogan's continued existence is anything but assured in the destroy or control [sabotage] epilogue, so to say that the krogan will continue to exist regardless of Shepard's choice isn't really correct.

I suppose it would make sense that there might be some leftover Collectors still screwing about in the Terminus systems, but I really hate some of multiplayer's rule of cool that made it in there. I don't know if they ever mention awakened collectors in the DLC anywhere, and I don't think I want to know.

No, the Awakened Collector never got mentioned thankfully. Just a Scion and some Abominations in an Asari monastery I'm assuming was meant to be Firebase Jade. I'm guessing we're meant to take the additional Collectors in dark space with the Reaper fleet as canon. Kinda makes sense. Someone has to patch up the Reapers.

I agree. They don't have resources to perform such a task. Okeer has been working on cloning for years and was funded by the Blue Suns to make krogans used for target practice. Bad way to go. The reapers did land on Tuchanka as seen within the EC endings, and because they do not have enough births to replenish lost krogans, they'll simply die out no matter what.

Aside from his financial backing, Okeer used technology he acquired from the Collectors.

I believe you get that slide if Wreav is in charge and the one's posted is with Wrex dead in ME3.
