I hope you guys realize that the only reason f/f romances are seeing some decent support is in a large part due to men who want to see that in a videogame for their own wet dreams. That might be seen as a selling drive point worth pursuing but it too can backfire badly as well since most people have families at home and having a family member see something like that is far less acceptable in most homes than it is to see a heterosexual romance.

I heard someone was watching a stream and FemShep and Kelly were pretty obviously flirting. There may be F/F romance, after all.

That doesn't count and you know it.

Guys...Kelly? Is anyone listening?

The game has been out to pirates for days now, I think if she was an actual f/f option, someone who has the game would've mentioned it. The only thing I've heard is one person say that there is supposedly flirting.

Well, I guess it's hopeless. I don't think this can be discussed without people yelling at each other.

It seems it actually makes some people happy to see fellow fans be denied things they wanted to see. That baffles me.

It's the typical "We got what we want and that's all that matters, so shut up" attitude.

That, and some bigots want characters to be "pure" of same-sex relaonships.  Just like they want marriage to be "pure".  "Purity" is apparently one of the conservative values.

What confuses me is that Bioware and EA allowed for same-sex romance in DA but they won't in ME2. Hopefully there will be a patch that allows for Garrus M/M and SuZe F/F due to fan demand.

SuZe is confirmed to be bi. look at the video earlier in the thread. Gerrus is just wishful thinking.

I'm just telling you the truth the way it is. If you don't like it then fine but that's the reality we live in.

DA sold well and most people didn' complain. If you didn't want Zevran, you didn't have to take him.

I just watched the SuZe video that someone posted.

Even beyond f/f sex, that scene includes some very interesting dialogue with deep paths to go down. It would be heart wrenching if I can't go down them with my FemShep and explore Jack's character.

my point being that just because a few homos are whining about not having a gay sex scene doesnt mean it should be put in.

Jack may be 'bi' but she is not a romance option for FemShep.

FemShep is the problem...she can't be bi or a lesbian.  She can only be attracted to human dudes or maliens this time around.

BioWare is shoving LesboShep back in that closet...

It's the truth. Companies make what sells the most.....they'll never publically admit they're making something for the perv's wet dreams as long as it doesn't hurt the sales in other areas but things like that are being done by the industry all the time. Why do you think Miranda is all over every other video with 10 times more attention than any other character?

That's how the marketting campaign rolls and that's the truth of the world around us because that's what sells.

There really hasn't been significant backlash to homosexual content in Bioware games. I wish people arguing against said content would stop trying to use the public out-lash argument. And if we're going to start talking about perverted content in games, the real issue would be rape simulators and truly sadistic violence in fringe torture simulation games (or, from what I've heard, Manhunt, but I wouldn't know). Dragon Age: Origins, the KOTOR series, and Jade Empire are not on my radar as perverted. And while plenty of games advertise what sells best, they don't always build what sells best. Comparing the advertising campaign for Mass Effect 2 with the reviews seems to suggest it overplays the "dark n' edgy" themes that worried me so much early on and that the game doesn't throw it in your face. The same can be said of games that advertise with mini-skirted female characters and turn out to have very little to do with said characters (here's looking at you, Need for Speed). Using the "games do what sells best" argument also doesn't hold a lot of water with respect to this issue.
