Even beyond f/f sex, that scene includes some very interesting dialogue with deep paths to go down. It would be heart wrenching if I can't go down them with my FemShep and explore Jack's character.

FemShep won't be able to explore Jack deeper, though Jack might desire that :D

I believe that if they were going to do a same-sex romance DLC, they should use the existing romances. The reason is that most of the romance dialog is gender neutral. Now, I have not watch any spoilers vids and I will not until I have finished the game, but I am going by Mass Effect. They would have to rerecord a number of lines, but not a great deal, and the animations are already in the game. From my view, it would be a simple DLC to create.

I just watched the SuZe video that someone posted.

I know. There are so many layers to Jack. I want to peel them off her like an onion! The icing on the cake would have been a F/F romance. But nooooo. FemShep can only be attracted to fish and raptors this time around.

I hope you guys realize that the only reason f/f romances are seeing some decent support is in a large part due to men who want to see that in a videogame for their own wet dreams. That might be seen as a selling drive point worth pursuing but it too can backfire badly as well since most people have families at home and having a family member see something like that is far less acceptable in most homes than it is to see a heterosexual romance.

so true its sad. its also been proven most female gamers are not lesbians.

so most games that have lots of fanservice or yuri is actually just for sells.

Most of Jack's dialog was gender neutral. Hopefully Garrus' will be as well. I remember a number of gay garrus threads back on the old forums.

BioWare is shoving LesboShep back in that closet...

Of all the odd decisions they've made with ME2, I really find this one the oddest.  Especially when you have characters like SuZe, and the fan favorite Tali being LI's.  Heck even Miranda would make a good lipstick lesbian.

Hmm, Miranda and FemShep, excuse me a while... :innocent:

It's the truth. Companies make what sells the most.....they'll never publically admit they're making something for the perv's wet dreams as long as it doesn't hurt the sales in other areas but things like that are being done by the industry all the time. Why do you think Miranda is all over every other video with 10 times more attention than any other character?

That's how the marketting campaign rolls and that's the truth of the world around us because that's what sells.

Actually Tali and Garrus get more love than all the other characters combined(by the fans), just to correct you.

Also I'm just pointing out how crazy your skills at Uber trolling are, they should copy ALL of your responses down and study them for future forums just so others can see how a professional does it...

Just ignore the trolls.  They'll go away when they realize no one will respond to their stupid posts.

Just throwing my opinion in before the thread gets shut down. I'm a straight female and support the option for same sex romances 100%. I don't really understand this "I don't want it so shut up" mentality, as being vocal and forthcoming with their opinions is how the Tali/Garrus folks ended up with their issues addressed (presumably, anyway). I say keep this dialogue open, and this plea out on the forums/groups/anywhere Bioware can look, and let them know there is a demand for these options.

i just hope that the exclusion of same sex romantic options wasn't done consciously to pander to the intolerant majority. i always respected BioWare for not shying away from these sorts of things in the past.

As a fellow straight female gamer, I'd just like to add that I approve of this post and support it and same sex romances 100% as well.

(...and I'm secretly still holding out for a Samara romance option.) :bandit:

FemShep is the problem...she can't be bi or a lesbian.  She can only be attracted to human dudes or maliens this time around.

Why? You can easily RP as lesbian or bi, even if there aren't  f/f option.  And you can continue your romance with Lira.
Actually, I find it interesting how everybody in this same sex treads do not mention Liara.

Liara isn't a romance option in ME2.

It's too late. You never will get a same gender romance again. BioWare has been selling OK with a million copies here and a million copies there but nothing truly great. Then there was RockStar to show them what they were doing wrong and what was holding them back....you see RockStar decided it was time to release a large DLC aimed at the same-gender people only and claim in advance that it would see spectacular sales. They were only half right...the DLC was spectacular but in its failure and complete lack of sales rather than success.

If one of the greatest selling franchises ever could all of a sudden completely and utterly fail in a major project then the truth became obvious.....they produced something that quite literally nobody wanted....and nobody wanted it because they aimed it at a target audience that is nearly nonexistent and the large part of society(including myself) does not approve of.

With this problem fixed there are really no more shackles left to hold BioWare back and with the mass promotion going this deserving game may well rise to truly epic proportions.

Lack of sales proves nothing.  That DLC was crap as far as I was concerned.  First off as a gay man looking for gay content, that was not it.  You are forced to play as womanizer under the employ of a horribly stereotypical gay man who has hired you to do his dirty work.  Now why would the gay community latch onto that?

I don't think it was. The issue wasn't as important to Bioware as .... well, anything in the final game. Clearly, neither was the Hammerhead ( :( ). While it is unfortunate and irritating that there was time for more romances than in the previous title but not enough time for a same-sex romance, Mass Effect is a lot more about "cinematic story telling" than "choose-your-own-RPG" even though it has many elements of choice ... so choice is not Bioware's primary goal here, though they would like to play up the elements of choice as much as possible.

Shes wasn't an f/f option, evidently... :(

When you consider the huge deflation everyone felt when they read that, its not suprising shes not mentioned.

I think bioware is gonna find out more than expected number of people being faithful to their ME1 LIs, especially Liara due to the lack of f/f romance option in ME2.
