Lack of sales proves nothing.  That DLC was crap as far as I was concerned.  First off as a gay man looking for gay content, that was not it.  You are forced to play as womanizer under the employ of a horribly stereotypical gay man who has hired you to do his dirty work.  Now why would the gay community latch onto that?

Not to mention that character development and relationships is not really what people play Rockstar games for.  You play Rockstar games to play out your inner criminal.

The same thing done by BW would probably turn out pretty well.

FemShep is the problem...she can't be bi or a lesbian.  She can only be attracted to human dudes or maliens this time around.

Why? You can easily RP as lesbian or bi, even if there aren't  f/f option.  And you can continue your romance with Lira.
Actually, I find it interesting how everybody in this same sex treads do not mention Liara.

They don't complain about Kaidan or Ashley either, why, because there's no problem there. Liara is a 1 playthrough romance. These new squadies are supposedly the best characters bioware ever made, and we're stuck with LIARA? That's fair SURE!

Just throwing my opinion in before the thread gets shut down. I'm a straight female and support the option for same sex romances 100%. I don't really understand this "I don't want it so shut up" mentality, as being vocal and forthcoming with their opinions is how the Tali/Garrus folks ended up with their issues addressed (presumably, anyway). I say keep this dialogue open, and this plea out on the forums/groups/anywhere Bioware can look, and let them know there is a demand for these options.

As a fellow straight female gamer, I'd just like to add that I approve of this post and support it and same sex romances 100% as well.

(...and I'm secretly still holding out for a Samara romance option.) :bandit:

Male straight gamer, also much approving. The more RP opportunities, the better, in my opinion. It makes me feel more immersed, even if I don't take up all of the options available ... I tend to play in similar ways unless I force myself even on repeat playthroughs, but I would feel discontent without the option to behave differently all the same.

Who's saying the Kelly and Liara scenes won't be good, though? I mean, have any of us seen them? Hell's the file size of Kelly's seen is one of the largest ones.

Lol @ Rockstar "showing bioware what was holding them back".

bioware had same sex romance in Jade Empire, and in DA:O.

Keeping heterosexual romances in won't make people "bored". That was a bit of a blind comment....

So has everyone just kinda gone off the deep end and decided to post whatever crapola pops into their head?

Yes, EVERYONE knows you want same sex romance. Heck, I even support it and I am a heterosexual male. Bioware knows it. It's too late for ME2.

You aren't getting ANYTHING done. wait until talk about ME3 starts up, that's when you should try and "petition" or whatever.

Good lord people are dense.

I think bioware is gonna find out more than expected number of people being faithful to their ME1 LIs, especially Liara due to the lack of f/f romance option in ME2.

Probably.

First, dews said, that you can continue relationships with your ME1 love interest in ME2. And second, I was addressing a statement that one can't RP lesbian/bi Shep. No really, you can.

I hope you guys realize that the only reason f/f romances are seeing some decent support is in a large part due to men who want to see that in a videogame for their own wet dreams. That might be seen as a selling drive point worth pursuing but it too can backfire badly as well since most people have families at home and having a family member see something like that is far less acceptable in most homes than it is to see a heterosexual romance.

so true its sad. its also been proven most female gamers are not lesbians.

so most games that have lots of fanservice or yuri is actually just for sells.

Like Miranda, Samara, even SuZe aren't just there for male gamers wet dreams.

FAMILIES??!?!? Are you S*** **me. This is an M rated game, your characters F*** for crying out loud. SuZe's outfit is A BELT THAT THEY DO CLOSE UPS ON ALL THE TIME! SCREW YOU!

Fine, RP a hetero person and don't romance anyone and see how fun that part of the game is.

My main Shepard is going to miss dear Mrs. Williams ... -sigh- he's convinced he can make her a better, less xenophobic person. Honestly, I don't know what he sees in her.

Hell, he'll miss Kaidan too. They were best pals.

Same as these people.  I am a straight female gamer, but I support the idea for a same sex DLC.  (Heck, I might get an extra henchmen out of the bargain.  Sounds good to me.)

Same sex romances would be wonderful (I was all over that darling little redhead in DA:O), but I'm actually rather happy that Samara seems to be romance-free. Like someone else said recently on this forum, it would cheapen my perspective of the character. She just seems too awesome for romance. It's a bit difficult to describe, but I guess I'm just hoping that she would not be susceptible to that kind of vulnerability. In a way, I suppose that I expect her to be "above" Shepard and her/his fleshly desires.

Now, if Tali was available to FemShep, I would squeal with joy. And, really, Thane (or why not Garrus?) for ManShep would be awesome. We all want the aliens, right? And I'm kind of thinking that since they're already from completely different species, how big of a deal would gender be in one of these relationships anyway?

I'll certainly be crossing my fingers hoping for some romance DLC, but I'm not holding my breath. :)

Actually, I did it in ME1. Also RP as gay Fshep, who had a crush on Ash. So what?

M rating is like underage drinking.....most people ignore the law and most are smart enough not to get caught. That's probably the reason why SuZe wears next to nothing. Do you know what the average beer-drinking football watching dad teaches his kids? Look into it.

Whose fault is that?  The beer company's or the parent's?  Should beer companies stop making beer just because this singular hypothetical parent is an irresponsible tool?
