Instead of catching up the fans of masseffect with a still cartoon video ,Tell u what put new armour , uniforms ,get rid of that ...mako its nothing but waste of time . replace it with more action ,talking,,and some new missions ,I mean jass up the game ,then i bet bioware will see a lot of people playing it a lot more.
speak for your self sir I like the game the way it is and I like to explore with the mako it made the universe seem larger
Mass Effect 1 is my favourite game in the trilogy, it's fine the way it is - doesn't need to be changed.

Well, to be honest I missed Mako and exploring missions in the ME2 & ME3. But it would be cool if ME1 was re-edited with new hd textures.

and besides, you can't actually find shifty looking cow without explorations with mako.
I have never had a problem with the Mako itself. In fact I really enjoy the Mako segments on the main quest planets. The only flaw of ME 1 that really gets to me is the copy and paste environments of the UNC missions and even then those missions still have their moments. If they were ever to go back and spice up ME 1 (and I don't see them doing that unless they play around with the entire trilogy) I would hope they mix up the UNC environments (less prefab warehouses), update the combat system, and update Shepard's armor customization options to bring it more in line with the sequels (but keep the base ME 1 armors as an option).
The planetary exploration parts of ME1 are my favorite part of the series since they have the classic scifi feeling of exploring the unknown. The only things I would change about them are give the interiors some uniqueness and make the terrain a little less crazy.

HD textures wouldn't save it. a complete graphical overhaul would. ME1 with ME3 graphics.
