P.S. I am aware that the voices for the PC are British and American, but I am Irish and I constantly get mistaken for an American. Just saying. Accents do not denote ethnicity.

Have we heard any news? So far all I know is his/her surname Trevelyan I believe. I think we might be Orlesian. We don't have to be a noble but I think being Orlesian gives you more motivation and a better understanding when getting involved in the Game in the same way the Human Noble gave you loads of motivation to oppose Howe and Loghain. Any thoughts?

Someone pointed out that Trevelyan is a Cornish name. Which would be in line with Ferelden. Not Orlais.
Not sure if it's accurate though. If I wasn't lazy right now, I'd google it. ![]()

I've asked this a couple of times.
Is it safe to say the last name will be the same for the warrior, rogue and mage? I ask since in DAO, the mage last name was different from the human noble last name. I know Bioware announced the names, I just want to make sure the name is for all three classes

No way to tell right now, I guess.
Anyways, I decided to not be lazy for a moment.

So... yeah. It's Cornish (which would be Southern England).

If we are Ferelden how will we be received in Orlais, a nation who occupied your own brutally for nearly 60 years? I imagine any interaction with Gaspard might be awkward to say the least. Orlesian interactions might be bit strained.
I think they will be happy to see the person who can fix these veil tears and everything. I don't think they would upset us to much, we do have an army

And it would actually make sense as it was stated that the game is beginning around the Temple of Andraste's ashes, which, as far as I'm concerned, is in Ferelden

Don't care as long as he is someone of importance and high standing before Invasion day.

I'm a bit tired of being Ferelden
I like Fereldans, but I can understand where the sentiment is coming from. Anything but Orlesian though. Rivaini and Tevinter sound fun.

I hope you can choose your country of origin kind of like the pre-history service in the ME series.

Given that our voice options are going to be american and british, I think it's safe to say we won't be Orlesian.
Which is something of a shame, as I'm tired of playing Fereldeners.

The human inquisitor could be from the Free Marches, though I'm not sure if that's much better. Personally I could go for being Antivan.
That's probably the most open ended at least. I'm not sure what the Marches even are equivalent to, ethinicity wise. Kind of a hodepodge of Orlesian, Tevinter, barbarian/Ferelden, and Nevarran influences?

If I remember the codex entry correctly the Grand Tourney in the Free Marches would have "all of Thedas on display". So yeah I've always pictued them as something of a hodge podge of all the other nations.

Too many of them are pompous jerk, especially to the nations they annexed.
