I've always liked the Hidden Shrine of Tamoachen module. Has anyone ever done a centaur mummy? 1st or 4th editon version?
I've also never seen a gibbering mouther done. Is there one out there?

I had attempted a gibbering mouther some time back using the grey ooze as a base, but the attack animations were all wrong. I might attempt one again using the gelantinous cube as a base.
LoW has a (VERY) incomplete gel cube based ones in his hacks, that I believe was abandoned as the animations broke. I'd take a stab at it but I have this odd ability to destroy skinmeshes whenever I touch them
Centaur mummy hasn't been made, but that's mostly because centaur are hecka rare

Sorry for the brief, convo-killing post :-P
Was on the itty-bitty scrying crystal last night.
So, I have started from a c_behold base and my idea is to have two offset skins for the main bulk and two independent skins, one for mouths and one for eyes, that will poke out through the main mass. With this idea, I can have an eye-ball grow out, blink a few times then get swallowed by a mouth.
Sneak edit:
The main mass will need to stay rather spheroid to conceal the latent mouths/eyes, but I think we can make something... disturbing :-)
The GM Kamal did using a Hellfire texture was pretty disturbing itself :-)
I do hope I haven't turned anyone off of their own approach ;-(
<...pating pontificating>
The Jublex from CEP/CCP might make a good gibbering mouther/shoggoth/yochlol base as well...
Many other well-known monsters also are missing-in-action, such as:
Archons/Angels/All other Celetials (most of them are still unrepresented)
Beholderkin (esp Observer, Spectator, Gorbel, Overseer, and Deathkiss)
Chuul
Darkmantle
Deepspawn
Demodands (Shaggy, Tarry, Slimey, etc)
Devils (Bearded, Horned, Pleasure, Spined, Styx, Most Lords)
Ethereal/Temporal Filcher
Effigy
Gibbering Orb
Grimm
Grues (Earth, Water)
Inevitables (all except Marut)
Infernal
Lavawight
Laima/Lamia Noble
Phane
Triton
Weirds
Yugoloth (Arcanoloth, Charanoloth, Dergoloth, Hydroloth, Nycanaloth, Piscoloth)
(just to name a few..)
I have been working on a Bloodkiss since forever, actually. Last I remember I accidentally broke it trying to flip the tentacles to work. Whoops
Made one of the few textures I'm happy with for it though
As for other critters, there is a water weird on the Vault, and these ones...
Archons/Angels/All other Celetials (most of them are still unrepresented)
Laima/Lamia Noble
Triton
could probably be handled by player models. Just stick fish-legs on a human and you've got Tritons sorted, normal head for a medusa or weimic for the Lamia, and angels are generally humanoid
(except for my love of biblical angels of 4 heads who's wings block their radiance from blinding all. Wheels within wheels and all)

Lamias are half-human/half-cat, so you couldn't do that with a normal player model. You could probably do it with the CEP wemics, but you'd need to give them standard human female heads and recolor the lion half to the color of a panther.
lamias can be things other than cats. a serpent bottom is very good for a lamia.
In 1e dnd terms: Cats lower bodies are laimias, while snake tailed are lamia nobles. Most searches turn up lamia nobles, (the type i was thinking of actually) and yes a female wemic can make a passable, if rather manly looking, lamia. (Wemics are based on half-orcs, while i think of lamias as more human-sized. Its like the difference between elven deer centaur and actually having properly made ones.)

@ mech I was unaware there were fish legs for humans, unless you just mean mermaid tails, triton are NOT mermaids...

(Mermaids cant ride sea horses like tritons can!)

A 3.5 edition weird who, appears as a female elemental, not a water snake, has not been done to my knowledge, tho the elistree came close...
Classic angels can be done as player races, however some of the more creative celestial creatures, (esp the archons and chaotics) would be a poor version. Point being, none of these creatures have been done yet, question was not if a a second-rate approximation could be made ![]()
Nah, there are no fish legs. Yet. Although if someone were to make them it'd sort that out
And I hate to go edition warring, but I prefer 2E weirds over the 3.5 ones. Elemental snake things are great. The one on the Vault is an edited purple worm of all things actually
And in terms of angels, don't forget, y'know, seraphim, cherubim, chayots....
And yes. i prefer classic monsters,
The 1st edition art is still the best ![]()

The 1E/2E weirds are "Lesser Weirds" in 3E (See Dragon #347). At some point they mature and become the Weirds with oracular powers from the 3E Monster Manual II.
