So at some point before Inquisition, I want to do another playthrough. Having never done the sacrifice ending or gotten a eulogy, I have a few questions for those who've done it because this is an ending I'd like to see from a FEM warden perspective.

1) Does Alistair always do euology?

2) Does romance (with him or others) change it/the scene?

3) Does being dumped/married/shacked up change it (in Alistair's case)?

My first and personal "canon" playthrough was a mage who got dumped, and I am tempted to recreate it a bit save for changing the end. (I let Morrigan have her way with the dope for spite on that one xD). However, if there are certain things that make it more interesting (being queen -- which I've also never done -- being actively romanced by Alistair/someone else etc.) then I'm open to switching it up.

TL;DR what set of circumstances gives the most interesting/powerful noble sacrifice ending for FEMALE warden?

1) Alistair does the eulogy if he is king alone, with Anora or was promised to HN Warden.

2) Yes he comments about the romance, even if he has broken up with you, as far as i know.

3) Not sure.

To me the mage Ultimate Sacrifice was pretty sweet to be honest. Don't want to spoil anything, but he does something different for each Origin.

HUH. Well dangit, that's nifty. Thanks for the info.  :) Had no idea origin changed it.

Can anyone confirm it works if dumped?

I'm not 100% certain if Alistair still gives the romance eulogy if he dumped your Warden and she didn't move on with someone else. However, I do know that if he dumped your Warden and she moved on with Leliana or Zevran, Alistair will give the "Friendship Eulogy" with an extra little focus on the new love interest.

Basically, he says, "Some of us even loved her," and then the camera focuses on Leliana or Zevran for a second. It's basically the same thing he does if the Warden solely romanced Leliana or Zevran.

I'm looking at the epilogue in the toolset, and Alistair delivers the eulogy if

* he is the sole king
* he is married to Anora but stayed in the party
(i.e. Loghain was not recruited)

Anora replaces him if

*she is the sole queen
*she is married to Alistair but Loghain joined the party

Alistair has a slightly different line of dialogue if the romance was ended. And he needs to have either the IN_LOVE or STILL_IN_LOVE flag set for his romance-related line to trigger, so if the breakup is acrimonious, it may clear that flag. (And it appears that both Zevran and Leliana must be at Love for him to acknowledge that relationship.)

And  now I forget what I was going to say. Darn it. /leaves unhelpful mess to at least show I tried

Thank you both! And that's good to know theskymoves. I think I'll give the dumped thing a go then and just let it end all sadface instead of FUFUFUFUFUUFface.

I was disappointed with my city elf funeral. Also with her returning to the alienage. Not much emotion anywhere. Alistair gave eulogy had a little catch in his voice.
