Why is the guy with no consumables always the first to ready up?

You don't need consumables, or at least, I've never needed them on gold. I put them on if I have them, otherwise, they are more of a luxury than a necessity, and why would they care if you noticed or not?!

You put them on if you have them huh? This implies you don't have many.. which means your manifest sucks.. which means you need them as much if not more than anyone else.

Nice first post.

That's a bit aggressive :o

No, the reason I don't have many is because I only recently started playing again, and I've been mostly buying the reserves and arsenal packs to unlock all the new stuff!

I'll buy an equipment pack sometimes with what's left over, but I wouldn't say having ammo, rail amps, shield boosters ect... is crucial to victory for me, though it can of course make things easier.

Another reason I'm not always using rail amps and stuff is because I get unlucky sometimes, like I'll want to use a character I've specced for snipers, and I'll only unlock shotgun rail amps, for example! Kind of annoying.

So greed is your reason? Gotcha.

This is a mentality I just don't get. "I mean I just do not get them."

I always put something on. Even just level 1 strength enhancers or adrenaline mods. Frickin' explosive ammo 1. At least it's something, man.

I don't think wanting to try out dlc characters after time away from the game constitutes greed, that's sort of what brought me back to ME3 multiplayer, and I'm hooked again!

Buy an equipment pack first.

I wouldn't see the point in a strength enhancer if it was unlikely I'd be using melee on that character, I'd rather save it for a character I have a melee build on. Likewise with ammo mods- if I'm using the Talon merc for example, I don't really use my gun at all, just using the mines and Omni bow, so I think it's better to save it for a character that does use weapons. That is more efficient to me, but if that's how you like to play, that's up to you.

Guess I would have a better manifest if I only bought Arsenal Packs but I buy lots of Jumbo Equipment Packs -- won't go into a gold+ match unless I have min of 5 each of rockets & medigels.  And I use them if necessary!

The important thing here is; I have to know that you're serious about winning this match, or at least getting to wave 11. I don't play Gold for Silver credits. If I wanted to clutch, I'd solo, know what I'm sayin'? If you at least have level 1 gear on, I know you're trying anyway.

I tend to agree on the medigel and rockets front, though I have plenty of those because I can go several games without using all 6 that I can carry, so by the time I do get that occasional jumbo pack, it's enough to keep me stocked up. It works for me, what can I say, but I'm not so fussed about needing to have ammo mods, strength enhancers etc... for a start, because as I already said, it doesn't make sense on a lot of the builds I use, and also because I don't think it's necessary to win a gold match.

Wow you're so badass, can i be like you? 1 jumbo pack every "several" games! Man, you're the bestest ever!

Winning's the point, isn't it?  I'll use up 6 each of rockets, gels, ops before I'll give up (unless teammates are constantly dying and leaving me to solo the entire field -- I've suicided sometmes).

Yes. I don't solo really though, I play with teams. I might use a rocket for the assassination rounds and very occasionally when the team is just swamped, but they all have rockets too, so we can all use them, to limit how much each individual player has to use. You really don't need to spam them in my opinion, and as for medigel, I play as infiltrators a lot of the time, so if cloak, I can usually get out of trouble and I don't need to use many medigels. If you are falling a lot, if you stick close by a decent team, they should revive you, I have run across the map to revive players, so they'll only use their medigels if they are about to be stomped, so again, no need to use many medigels. I never said I was badass, you've created a bit of a straw man there I think ;)

Looks like you took that point out of context. I said I don't think ammo mods and such are necessary to win a gold match- ie, it's possible to win without using them ;)

Of course it's possible to win without them, but if you don't you kill things slower, thereby increasing the length of the game, putting more of the burden on the rest of the team. That makes you a leech in my book, and I'd make sure to kick you.

"they all have rockets, too"  --  I say this to myself but more often in question form (not using gear at startup is a good predictor of no use of other consumables).

Most of my rockets & gels get used running to save teammates!

edit:  no gear at startup is also a good predictor of quitters later in the match (nothing to lose)

That's not true in my experience, I'll quite often finish 1st or 2nd on the board, and I never said I never used them anyway, only that I use them when I have them and when it suits my build, but because I only quite recently started playing again, I've been buying mostly reserve packs and as mentioned, I already had a decent amount of rockets and medigels. If you kick someone before the game has even started and you have no idea how good a player they are, just because they didn't put an ammo mod on, that says a lot more about you.

Tbh, that's usually when I'd use the most rockets, to revive a swamped player, though again if I happen to be playing as an infiltrator, I'd just cloak and I can usually revive them.

Oooooooooh. Yet another player who never uses equipment and always top scores (because that matters). I still haven't ever run into one. I also don't care how good a player you are. I'd rather have a team player. It definitely says more about the player who decides to leech.

Psychez -- I get what you are saying and using them "when it suits" the build is, of course, reasonable.  I never kick, but I'll leave or dissolve a lobby if no other player looks strong (low XP, no consumables).  I like quick matches best.

Haha, so score doesn't matter to you, yet you were whinging about people not doing enough damage?! Most of your score will come from the damage you do to enemies! Other points will come from doing objectives, which is again, being a team player. As for not meeting good players who don't always use equipment, well that sucks for you I suppose (maybe it's because you kick them all before you even give them a chance? :P). I often do the multiplayer with friends, so I'll know when they're going to use a rocket or whether they have any. Platinum is a bit of a ****** for us, but we get through practically every gold game, and we're all good team players. Not sure why I bother justifying myself to you though, you sound angry. Perhaps it's time to unplug and get some fresh air ;)

Loooool. Why does everyone assume I'm angry? I'm lol'ing over here, just calling you exactly what you are.
