Why is the guy with no consumables always the first to ready up?

I don't get where people are getting the false "consumables shows commitment" from. Was just in a game with a decently geared AIU and GI consumables and all. They died a lot, rage quitted, and left me and the other guy to finish up and extract. That also wasn't the first time it happened. Consumables shouldn't be viewed as anything other than an optional boost. The claims "consumables show committment" or "he won't leave the game" was nulled by that game. The person is just as committed with or without the consumables.

While I agree consumables are helpful for people who need it, I just don't get the false meanings people put behind it.

I can only make assumptions off of my experiences (Gold or Platinum). Of the hundreds of matchs, my experience is the players with consumables will finish the match greater than 95% of the time. Those without; around 60% to 70%. It's a noticeable difference.

Your mileage may vary and there's always exceptions to the rule, but if I only have time for two or three games, I'm going with the 95% of chance of actually having teammates, hence increasing our chance of clearing, every time.

What? So newbies not equipping anything aren't as bad as veterans with high level weapons and gear/equipments?

Now you are going into newbies vs veterans, a veteran with high level weapons w/o one time consumables is going to perform better than a rookie who equipped something but is still on common weapons and 2 medigels.

Your boy says you GI constantly, and you say you don't use consumables bc of challenge. I just put two and two together.. which says to me "The GI does so much damage that it doesn't need equipment."

You don't like it.. too bad. It's the picture you and Kislitsin painted.

I was playing with Kislitsin three or four times, always with different random people. Yes, I prefer to play with GI because he makes highest possible DPS for me. But it don't mean that I dont't use another kits. Give up, Mega, your point is weak.

I always ready up with the highest level of consumables available. It's kinda silly not to play without them in gold/platinum

I usually use lvl 1 & 2 consumables on Gold.

1) because having lvl 3 or 4 doesn't make much difference on Gold.

2) because I have 255 lvl 1 equipment from the N7 challenge.

I agree that consumable usage is a luxury. Anybody is free to use what they want or not. however, no equipment usage on Platinum is pushing it. I understand those with low N7 & CP. but for everyone else that has a Juggernaut with Reegar or wtv it's inexcusable. Just show me that you care about the team and then you can enjoy your hard earned credits.

The same goes for Gold in some situations. like once I was playing my melee Juggernaut, I was in a team w/o consumables and they all died and bled out on the first wave.

They obviously didn't want to extract so I left the game.

Like what other kits? Does your 'no equipment needed' philosophy branch out to include other 'fair but good DPS' classes like the QME, SI, Destroyer, etc.

Pls.. your stance is weak.

"Hey gaiz! I don't use equipment on my Reegar Kroguard and my Black Widow Salarian Infiltrator bc that makes the game more sporting."

No consumables GE > no consumables GI

Besides, I don't think the GI with no consumables is at all overpowered on Gold+.

I don't use grenades because I hate constantly running from box to box, my Kroguard is chargeless as almost all other vanguards. I don't use flamer or Acolyte because I hate them too. I rarely use Reegar because I dislike CQC. And so on. But I nearly love Vorcha Engineer, for example. On the other hand, I simply can't understand Talon Engineer.

I don't get it. You say you want a challenge, that you want to make the game more difficult for yourself. And yet you mostly play the most powerful DPS kit in the game, precisely because of its high DPS.

Seriously, you don't see the contradiction here?

If you like your Indra GI so much but want to make the game a bit more difficult, why not try Salarian Infiltrator specced out of Energy Drain using scoped Tempest or Locust? Plays exactly the same way but noticeably more challenging.

You still didn't answer my question.

"What other kits do you play without consumables?" I can see an argument for the Vanilla Human Adept..

He is, even on Platinum, even without Black Widow.

It's not what I'd call 'challenging' either ;)

Saying GI without consumables is challenging is like saying volus are 10 feet tall IMO. It's still a bloody GI after all.

Honestly, the same can be said for quite a few other kits. I'd like to hear someone trying to explain how playing a BW GI without consumables is more challenging than playing a Predator VM with level III/IV equipment.

Consumables on gold pugs:

It's beyond belief that any player does not have some lower level ones to stick on, even newer players.

It's beyond belief that any established good player does not have hundreds of them laying around.

No consumables when I see you in the lobby?  Well your either a lazy bastard or you are so much a clutchingly miser that I know for sure you are not going to use medigel, ops packs, rockets when called for becasue you are either a miser or 'I'm so good I don't need to use anything until 3/4 of the team is down.

You can replace Saber with Carnifex and TGI with  Senturian, only speccing Overload and leaving rest of the points unspent. Instead of cloaking you could just close your eyes for a few seconds and pretend you're invisible.

"What other kits do you play without consumables?" I can see an argument for the Vanilla Human Adept..

Human Adept, Asari Adept -- rarely, mostly to close appropriate mastery.

Volus Adept or Volus Vanguard, ACA -- rarely, as soldiers.

Fury, Asari Justicar -- moderately.

Grenadeless Drell Adept -- rarely, mostly for trolling.

Other adepts -- almost never.

Grenadeless Krogan Soldier -- rarely, mostly for trolling.

Grenadeless Batarian Soldier -- rarely these times, moderately in the past.

Flamerless Vorcha Soldier -- moderately, mostly for trolling.

N7 Destroyer -- moderately though I dislike his slowness.

Stimpackless Turian Havoc -- moderately, love him.

Flamerless GT -- rarely, mostly for fun with Scorpion or to closing Javelin.

Juggernaut -- moderately though it's not easy to find lobby without SP delay.

Other soldiers -- almost never.

Engineers -- Vorcha and Turian moderately,  other -- almost never.

Grenadeless Krogan Sentinel -- moderately.

Batarian Sentinel -- rarely.

Passiveless Paladin -- moderately, nearly love him, but not much.

Asari Valkyrie -- rarely, mostly for AF closing.

Krogan Warlord -- rarely, mostly for Black Widow closing.

Other sentinels -- almost never.

Human Infiltrator -- rarely, he/she is pointless for me.

Salarian Infiltrator -- rarely, mostly for closing ED and Valiant.

GI -- well, you know.

Pure melee N7 Shadow without ES -- love her.

Stimpackless Turian Ghost -- rarely, mostly for Overload closing.

Drell Assassin -- rarely, can't handle his mine properly.

Asari Huntress -- rarely, she's too fragile for me.

RM-less AIU -- rarely, mosly for SF closing.

Other infiltrators -- almost never.

P.S. Totally forgot about vanguards, no wonder.

Mostly Cabal, others -- almost never.

Depends on the weapon and the number of waves you need to hero.

563 shields is sort of crappy to solo waves with if you have a bs gun.

lol, any class with tac cloak is not fragile, even with pathetic shields and health and 0 in fitness.

You really put the Geth weapon bonus to good use with that one.

Well, I did it with GI and Predator. Predator rocks, you know, but my poor finger is not. Did it with Locust and Tempest too, again on GI. They are not bad. On GI.

I don't care one way or another on Gold or below.

On plat you're a ****** dick if you don't prepare yourself for the game.

"But, but I'm sooooo super skilled I don't need consumables." I don't give a **** how good you are. That equipment increases your killing efficiency which makes the entire team more likely to succeed and less likely to have trouble. Put on something or if you want to handicap yourself shove the controller up your ass and play solo to give the enemies a sporting chance.

About 20-25% of time, yes.
