Why is it priced at $39.99, Bioware? :crying:

Same reason any other expansion is 10-20 dollars cheaper than the original. It's not a new thing.

because it's the usual price for expansions on consoles.

Compared to what I used to pay for expansions pre-Steam in Australia (and I assume that hasn't changed, haven't been to a retailer in yonks), $40 is pocket change. Looking at Dragon Age, it'll be worth it's weight multiple times. Already bought it.

Because they have us on the leash with their awesome game. I'd pay way more if they slapped the Dragon Age title on it.

Why not. Don't like it then a bit for the price to drop, win-win for everyone.

Not sure why PC version of xpac costs the same as 360 but no biggie.

The expansion sure is expansive!

Because we're desperate for more. I have heard the expansion has a lot of content.

Consoles add their own "tax" for third party developers?

They charge a fee if you want to publish a game on their platform, so kind of.

It's alot worse in Australia, for all games and expansions. You have it better than you think.

There is no pre-order bonus or collector's edition like there was with the original game so there really isn't any incentive to get it when it first comes out unless you are just extremely desperate for more Dragon Age content. I think I'll wait until I can get it for around $20 on Steam. It really comes down to how good it seems to be based off reviews and general consensus.

Yes, $20 would be a fair price for a 15 hour expansion, methinks.

that and

Large corporations  have invested small fortunes on regional price tolerances and Australians eagerly
displayed delight to fork out excessive amounts of money and never question it...
so don't sick the dingos on BioWare, send them after the man in the suit!Image IPB

Oh? So you know the estimated length of the game before it's even been annouced by Bioware.

Just send those dragons, minotaurs and dingos to Muzyka, I'd say. Anyone agreeing with me?

Well in all fairness game companies almost always over exaggerate the length of their games. Didn't BioWare say Dragon Age was around 80 hours?

About the same as going to see a band (local, not famous ;) and having a couple of pints. No big. it'll last a lot longer and I won't have a hangover.
