Is there anyway to get my ME2 saves of steam without having to download the game again?

Hmm, as far as I can see all my saves are local?
Are you sure they're not still on the old computer?

The savegames are normally located under Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Saves. At least that's the case with the retail version, but I think the Steam version should save to the same location.

Your saves should be under my documents on your old computer.
That computer is finished and my friend who has the hardrive has gone on holiday so I don't want to wait that long for him to come back ![]()

Even if the computer might be finished, the harddrive might still be accessible.
I don't think that me3 or me2 saves to a cloud? Correct me if I'm wrong.
If that's right, don't let your friend wipe the harddrive.
The only alternative I can think of right now though would be to download a savegame. You can edit those, to your liking.

IIRC the Steam version of ME2 didn't save to a cloud.
Alternative:
go to masseffect2saves.com
download a save that's closest to your Shepard
download Gibbed ME2 save editor
edit save to your liking
profit!
make sure you recreate the me2 directory in MyDocuments/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/saves/yourshepard/
so ME3 will detect it
