Hello everyone!
Am going to do a 'perfect' trilogy run with a paragon shephard.
I'm only going to play through it once on new game+.

If anyone can direct me to some good builds for these classes that would be great!

Why the two? I'm undecided which one I want to play as. I've done a bastion sentinel before and love being able to shoot enemies trapped in stasis.

Thanks everyone .

Check this thread (even if you're level 60, the core of the builds should be similar): http://forum.bioware...through-builds/

Personally, I find adepts better than vanguards in ME1, though both can become very powerful. I guess it depends on playstyle, in part.

Are you saying you are playing ME1 on NG+?  If so you are going to be limited by whatever build and bonus power you import anyway.

I started an Adept last week and I will probably make it look something like this around 55.  I am not a huge Stasis fan so I might not even level it that high, although I did just get Stasis Specialization because it has been forever since I played with it.  I noticed in some of the old threads people don't go for high level Marksman on some of the biotic builds, but along with Lift those are the only 2 talents I would always max on a biotic.  Singularity is sometimes annoying with how it will throw enemies into walls, so I am not sure I am even going to max it for super radius.  Shotguns are the bonus because on an Adept it seems like you have more than enough powers as it is.  There are 6 in Intimidate because with 4 freebies you have enough to potentially pass every intimidate check in the game (only 10 absolutely necessary).

For a Vanguard, you would want to decided if you want to be a little more weapon focused or basically play a tankier adept.  If you take Singularity you can be a tankier Adept.  Otherwise you can be a biotic soldier with Sniper or Assault Rifles.  I probably prefer the later, although either will work.  Shock Trooper is my preferred specialization on him.

I just did level 55 builds in case you decide to start from scratch from Level 1.  Pretty much with either class if you get Master Lift, Advanced or Master Marksman, and Advanced + Barrier you are set.

edit: Hmmm there is something funny going on with the links to that calculator.

Ah ok.

Some people say you don't need to worry about the shotgun bonus talent to use shotguns, but I like being able to scope them.  I am around Level 40 (adept) and haven't really invested in it yet and probably will only get the standard Carnage.  Also I think for this run I am leaving Stasis at rank 1, or maybe a little more than that depending on how much I have left.  I don't really care about the extra duration myself, but in the link above I spec'd it higher.  Advanced or Master Singularity is probably better than spending all the points in Stasis, but it depends on what you want to do.  Adept has more powers than there are quick slots so most of the time I don't even get Stasis. :)

The other thing is that if you get Barrier Specialization, seems to me you don't necessarily need to max Barrier, but that is going to depend a lot on how you like to play and what armor you decide to use.  I am still running Onyx IV at about midgame just because I wanted to run it and I haven't had any drops of higher level Onyx light whatsoever (could console it).  At this point I am mostly safe except for shield bypass attacks.  That's pretty much only going to depend on armor and not on going all the way maxed on Barrier.

I played an adept recently and didn't feel the need to max Stasis either. I'd put one point in there soon, but even if I were going for advanced or master, I wouldn't make it a priority.

As for Barrier, I agree about advanced being fine most of the time, but max it if you're going to use Carnage to prevent one cancelling the other. I'd use assault rifles myself, though.

Ah thankyou so much everyone.
I'm thinking of taking vanguard/ shock trooper the more I look into it. As I've played bastion sentinel, and enjoyed laying waste as an evil solider, this combo seems to give me the best of both play styles.

Does taking singularity clash much with lift? If I remember correctly higher ranks in lift can affect multiple enemies?

I've been playing m3MP for far too long, when I recently played my renegade sentinel in me2 to bring her into me3.... I'd kept trying to combat roll hahaha.

What is everyone's thoughts on nemesis vs bastion for the adept?

Lift can always affect multiple enemies if they are in the radius, but there is some glitch where if a single enemy is targeted it only lifts 1.  So you have to aim it at the ground for groups.  Singularity is much easier to use against multiple enemies.  The reason I tend to get Lift to Master fairly soon is because Iike being able to lift nearly every enemy (except Thresher Maws).  I guess you can Stasis the Maws.  I tried it the other day, although you need more than basic Stasis duration to make it worth doing.

What is everyone's thoughts on nemesis vs bastion for the adept?

I like Bastion better so I can have a much better Barrier, and if I am not getting Stasis I can stop investing in the class talent when I get to Barrier specialization.  For Nemesis, the mid way Warp specialization doesn't make a lot of sense to me, although Lift w/ +4m radius seems nice.  Of course you have to aim it right to be able to do that.  I think Master Lift with Bastion is good enough, especially if you also have Singularity.  Also the incremental bonus for Nemesis is Duration and Damage, the former of which is nice, but the later shouldn't matter at all really.

Remaining 8 points (ended at level 55) were spent on Charm/Intimidate (2 points) , Stasis (1 point), Spectre Training (4 points) and Barrier (1 more point)
