I am seeing a split in opinions here. some people think it would be fine and maybe even enjoyable to have MP in the game as long as it doesn't effect the making of or playing of SP. then there is some of you who are demonizing all games that have SP and MP in the game (disturbedjim83). and then there is a sprinkling of people who don't really give a ****.
also this whole thing is just running around in circles.
I'm ok with MP so long as it has no affect on the SP at all, problem is most companies don't see it that way and the COO of EA Peter Moore is one of them and its common practice now that where there is MP MT soon follow,MT are viable in a F2P game as its the only way for the Dev to recoup their costs, in a game that costs $60 its disgraceful tbh.
But that an aside,I'm sure we all are aware of 2 of the biggest complaints aside from the ending that were leveled at ME3 prior to the EE fix:
1) MP had a direct effect on the SP campaign where you had to play it to get the best ending,or do every dam side mission, scan every planet etc to get the best ending which frankly was unacceptable.
2) Game Content that came on the disk was effectively locked behind a paywall, requiring you to pay for DLC to "unlock" content that was already on the disk.
I still remember the statement prior to the EE patch that effectively said that customers who complained about the endings were too stupid to "get it" which didn't help, what concerns me more was that someone at BW clearly thought that doing these 2 things was a good idea.Sure they fixed it eventually but only after a ton of complaints and bad media coverage on the whole fiasco.
An now only 4 months from release we are getting the same "vague" statements from devs with no clear answer as to whether there is MP in DAI which would seem to indicate 2 possibilities.
1) There is MP and they are keeping quiet about it to avoid concerned people cancelling pre orders or outright avoiding the game because as much as I enjoyed DA2,it ticked off alot of the DAO fanbase so alot is riding on this game to try and pull the disgruntled DAO fanbase back in.
2)They plan on introducing MP into DAI at a later date or maybe a future game if DAI does well and are effectively "testing the water" to see if there is a big enough interest to risk ticking off a section of the fanbase.
There could be other options I haven't thought of given that I didn't sleep much and still need some coffee but I digress
