Do you have a source on saying blood magic is hands-down evil? Because templars use it to track apostates, and there are several instances like in witch hunt and legacy dlcs where characters outside the protagonists have delved into grey areas concerning blood magic.

In Origins it was implied that blood magic was associating with demons.  This carries inherent dangers both of possession and the consequences of your action, since demons always require something in return for giving power.   Initially it can be argued that you are only using your own blood and if you are careful, you can get the benefits without the downside.   This was basically Merrill's argument.    Whether she would have succeeded in continuing to get help from the demon without sacrificing herself or someone else, we shall never know since Marathari took it upon herself - in a way she allowed herself to be tricked by the demon.

The other problem with blood magic is that it is limitless provided you are willing to sacrifice others to achieve power.   Most powerful blood mages do not risk themselves but others to achieve their ends.   When you sacrifice the lives of many tens, hundreds or even thousands to power your spell, I think that is pretty evil.

So far as who taught who blood magic, there is even one version where it was the elves who taught it to the humans, who then turned it against them.   I think the two versions concerning which demons were responsible refers to two different times in history.   The old gods, including Dumat, probably taught the Magisters how to make their blood magic powerful enough to defeat the elves.     The story of the Forbidden Ones probably refers to when mages outside the Tevinter Empire regained the knowledge that was lost when the Chantry was formed and blood magic was forbidden.   Tarone's diary entry refers to a date in the Black Age was was definitely post formation of the Chantry.

As for Flemeth, I think the term abomination on truly refers to mages who have been subsumed by the demon.   Flemeth is more akin to what happened with Wynne and Anders, although with a different kind of spirit.   Imshael is most insistent that it is not a demon and it is certainly a different entity from the common pride, desire, rage and hunger demons.  Flemeth's spirit was of a similar kind.

It has been stated that Demons have their own hierarchy, but I think that demons are simply spirits that mortals consider evil. We cannot truly understand them because they are completely alien to mortals. Since there are many types of mortals it makes sense there are many types of spirits/demons. Hopefully we will get a chance to interact with Imshael and find out more about the Fade.
P.S. I liked him as a character and found him witty. Looking forward to conversing with my Dalish Mage Inquisitor.

As a future mage Inquisitor I want to converse and speak to this being and maybe even make a deal. When are we ever going to encounter a being possibly older than the world?

If this is possible, I hope the inquisitor gets to meet Michel before meeting Imshael. I'm a sucker for unwise PCs - and it's so much more delicious when they know (in character) there will be consequences.

My first mage inquisitor would absolutely deal with Imshael if given the choice.
