The big problem for the US now is the potential for the Germans to destroy them and then they don't even get through on goal difference. They will be exhausted after that game, they looked dead on their feet at the end and there isn't a big depth of quality in the squad. If they are going to go through then they are going to have to do it the bloody hard way. If they go out now then the mistakes in that final minute will haunt them.

A draw will now be enough for both Germany and the US to proceed to the round of sixteen. Gijón, anyone...?!
Ah, it's a damn shame, I'd love to keep Germany and the USA and Ghana in the tournament.

Bradley, I think it was him, the bald guy for the states was about 3/4 responsible for the last goal. He has the ball just outside of the portugal box with less than a minute left, You can pass it backwards and waste time, no preferrable or you can put if forward, even if it goes out of bounds or for a goal kick. The one and only thing you can't do is get your pocket picked and let portuagl advance it fast.

1. I lost my voice yelling GOOOOOOOOLLLLL today.
2. I wanted so bad to post a 'Go home and be a family man' Colonel Guile meme in regards to a Portugal loss. Oh well.

US guys are awesome. Just awesome. Have no skill compared to big teams but do have passion and balls instead.
Too bad Ronaldo is a real deal-- even being injured.
Ghana's amazing either but I hope US will make it through.

The 'Group of Death' living up to its name, I see. Things can go either way for any team, and the most exciting games of the tournament have come from this group.

Stop talking crap about Messi and Ronaldo you jealous losers! Both are great players and have the heart of gold.
I hadn't watched a single match of Algeria (never) and Korea (at least for a year). I didn't see it coming.

Updated the first post. bFootball is still leading strong with a 15 point difference on CrazyRah and Druss.
Belgium is kinda dissapointing at the moment, they got lucky to score in the last minute against Russia. They have a really good team but none of them have enough experience to do well on this WC..
I did not expect the USA to be so good.. Just as many other smaller countries they really play as a team and show some good football and nice matches because of it. I would have liked them winning to Portugal so that we could wave Ronaldo goodbye
. Now they are going to have to beat Germany, which is not very likely..
I expected Algeria to win but I did not forsee this many goals.. The entire WC has been good for the scoreboard, on average we have had almost 3 goals per match
Plus I like to thank everyone for putting your predictions of this round all in different formats, it really made collecting them challenging ![]()
I still need the predictions of: Druss, Cerrydd, Harry, Smoke and Mirrors and MegaIllusiveMan (and Abraham and Caladin if you're still here)

The problem with Portugal and Argentina, is that their teams are medicore at best. People expect them to go far because each one has a star player, but one player doesnt make the team.
Why do you think Germany and Netherlands are so good? They have many good players and play like a team, not a one man army (not Ronaldo or Messi's fault, they try but they cant carry an entire team).

And as for Group G, I hope Germany demolishes the USA, and that Portugal destroys Ghana. Because honestly, I'd rather see Portugal go through more than USA or Ghana.

They're up 2-1, at least?
And I thought they were pretty dominant against Mexico, only tying because of a pretty brilliant GK performance.

Harry Redknapp made an interesting remark about 2-3 Spurs players not wanting to play for England.
What do you guys think?
Sorry. I've got to be less Anglocentric.
It's just his remarks were interesting...
