So.. I did not see yesterday coming.

We were bad, once again.. Chili should have won. Robben was once again the worst player on the field followed by Sneijder. Robber cost us at least 5 goals this WC already because he refuses to pass the ball and Sneijder simply isn't good enought for this level.

 

And Mexico won against Croatia.. I really thought Croatia would win and they had the upperhand in the first half at least but Mexico was much more dangerous and once again, they were stolen of a penalty..

 

I only saw the summaries of the other matches but it looked like Australia was done fighting, since there was nothing left to win anymore and Brazil looked like it played decently after a slow start..

 

 

And tonight it's Italy - Uruguay. What is it going to be? Pirlo or Suarez?

This world cup has the worst referee team in the last three world cups. That piece a sh*t Suarez deserves a falcon punch.

All I can say, is that as a soccer fan, I'm disgusted with this game overall. Judging from our playing and tactics, Italy should have lost, especially with all the bullshit tactics from Chiellini, but we should *not* have lost like that.

 

I think this shows just how out-dated many aspects of the game are. The lack of instant replays, players purposely taking dives/wasting time, and one referee being responsible for covering the entire field? This match, much like Croatia and Brazil, shows that something needs to change.

^ Damn straight. I mean, what's the cost? A few extra seconds of stoppage time added here and there? I think it's well worth it if it allowed the correct team to move on. These players train for this tournament too hard to have anyone screwed over by outdated ideas. Hell, depending on how you look at it, Croatia should have won that match 2-1.

Oh, they can do it alright. Whether they should it's another matter entirely. I never really bought into the whole Evra controversy. Personally, I think it was blown out of proportion by the press and by Evra himself.

They also need to STOP THE CLOCK. I saw a lot of Italian players hitting the ground with 'leg cramps'.

 

The ref does stop his watch when the ball is out of play, but for some reason it never quite adds up to the amount that the ball is out of play. You rarely see more than 5 minutes added on at the end no matter how much time is wasted. You're right, they really do need to look at that system. Why is there always more added on at the end of the second half than there is at the end of the first half?

 

I had to edit that as I got my own point horribly wrong.
