The only reason Pirlo has more assists is that Barcelona passes so much there's no assist man whereas Pirlo is the designated assist/pass guy.
I see Suárez has bit someone again, why that guy hasn't been given a huge ban yet is beyond me, he's a cheating idiot. I still remember him being proud about blatantly screwing Ghana in 2010, 1 of the most unprofessional people in sports.

He's the Ron Artest of football. I don't mind dirty crazy players, and I'm not saying this 'cause I'm a Uruguay supporter. If they're kept in check (which hasn't been done properly with Suarez) they give the game more flavor. A lot of the fouls given nowadays would be considered excellent tackles 20 years ago.
Ivory Coast was at the end but to hell with them if they can't defeat a team like Greece who had not scored a single goal in the last two games.

Seriously, I appreciate players with a strong personality, but a guy who has bitten other players that often needs to be banned for a long, long time, if not for life. That's just not something a sportsman should do. Or, well, any sane person.
That being said, this day wasn't what I expected or hoped for. It just doesn't seem to be a tournament for the supposed "big" European teams. Well, Holland, France and Germany should still be able to restore some of that balance.
Costa Rica ending first in their group is amazing! Either them or Greece in the quarter final, who would've guessed? Maximum drama between Ivory Coast and Greece, btw. I'm happy I didn't really care about who won, this match was too intense. Poor Japan, but they just weren't good enough.

Iran was amateur and couldn't perform better than this. You can't win the games if you can't keep the ball and pass it correctly. Note: Argentina isn't strong enough to win the world cup.

After watching the Uruguay vs Italy game again I know where Suarez was coming from (not justifying what he did, but I'd be pIssed too). Chiellini and Cavani have a long standing rivalry dating back to when Cavani played on Napoli. Chiellini always plays dirty, like he did yesterday (that foul on Cavani inside the box, which wasn't called, being the most blatant), and Cavani being the pro that he is keeps it moving. That chomp down on Chiellini was retaliation for the hits Cavani was taking during the entire game. Two wrongs don't make a right and Suarez should definitely be penalized, but I thought I'd illuminate some folks on why he might have done what he did.

Nah, I think he just snapped. I'd have Agreed with you if it was another player (and the part of Chiellini-Cavani rivarly is 100% right), but that's the third time he munched someone.
Well that's certainly your right. I'm not saying the guys all there, but in his position I would have retaliated too. Definitely not as drastic, but when the refs not making calls and my side is taking a physical beating I'm going to start playing dirty myself.
