Well that's certainly your right. I'm not saying the guys all there, but in his position I would have retaliated too. Definitely not as drastic, but when the refs not making calls and my side is taking a physical beating I'm going to start playing dirty myself.
I disagree. Retaliating might lead to a red card (depending on the situation), and leaving you team in inferiority. Yesterday Suarez would've re-established an equality in the field (Marchisio was alread out), with Uruguay to suffer mentally for the loss of their most important player.
And again, I don't think he did for retaliate.

Problem is that playing dirty needs to be masked. At least tackles are part of the game, so there's always some room for ambiguity on whether a player intentionally fouled or not.
There aren't really many instances on a soccer pitch where someone can make the claim "hey, I accidentally bit his shoulder". I can't really say anyone on that pitch, Italy or Uruguay, looked like they were out to play fair.
After watching the Uruguay vs Italy game again I know where Suarez was coming from (not justifying what he did, but I'd be pIssed too). Chiellini and Cavani have a long standing rivalry dating back to when Cavani played on Napoli. Chiellini always plays dirty, like he did yesterday (that foul on Cavani inside the box, which wasn't called, being the most blatant), and Cavani being the pro that he is keeps it moving. That chomp down on Chiellini was retaliation for the hits Cavani was taking during the entire game. Two wrongs don't make a right and Suarez should definitely be penalized, but I thought I'd illuminate some folks on why he might have done what he did.
I'd have to disagree, Cavani is a large well built man who can take care of himself, why would he need someone like Suarez offering up retaliation for him? Surely the beef would be entirely between Cavani and Chiellini. Even if Suarez was on some sort of revenge mission, why bite him? You can leave your foot in, go in late, have a cheeky elbow or just dive in two footed like a psycho. You don't bite someone because they kicked your mate, you bite someone because your a complete and utter nutjob. I think he just snapped, again. No one is ever going to think they can help the team by gnawing on an opponent.
This is just some of his behaviour, note that he got away with about 95% of it. The first one in the compilation is the worst for me by a mile, made all the more despicable because he went down like he was the one injured.
The Uruguay management, his lawyer and Liverpool in the past have done him absolutely no favours by defending him. He thinks his behaviour is ok and that there is some sort of campaign against him. People in authority around him need to condemn him instead of feeding that utter stupidity.

So... Suarez banned for 4 months from all football-related activity.
Plus 9 official matches.
I have to say that I find the sentence excessive, particularly considering what other players have gotten away with in the past. I can only hope it means FIFA will apply the same criteria in every match from this point forwards (but I know that won't be the case).

When you consider he has already been banned for a combined 17 matches for his previous hunger attacks and he is still doing it, then what choice did they have but to go for a much bigger ban? It's got nothing to do with what others are getting away with and everything to do with the fact this is the third time they have caught him doing it.
I hope Germany wins. Just so they can show that USA should stick to their American Football.
I'm hoping for the opposite. If US does good in this Cup 'soccer' becomes a popular sport in the US for next four years. And my little cousin will play for the US national team one day; so I'm biased.
