Even if i did prefer Ghana to make it out of the group i'm going to hand it to the US for performing much better than anticipated in one of the harder groups in this world cup. Personally see group D as my "group of death" but granted both B and G can easily be seen as the same. So many terrifying teams in all of those groups

I usually agree with sentiments like this about the FIFA, they are are dictoral organisation that only cares about profit, they have proven that time and time again. Blatter needs votes for another term? Just thow some money at the smaller football nations and the board and everything is well and done.
However, here that is less the case. There is overwelming evidence that he bit Chiellini. There are videos from both behind and in front of him, plus the obvious bitemarks in Chiellini's neck. Not to mention Suarez' history of exactly this kind of thing.
He might have been prejudiced against but Uruguay and Suarez had a chance to defend their point, they had a couple of days to come up with a defence. The best they could come up with was that 'things like this happen'..
You can argue away a hard tackle as an accident but a bite is not something that just happens in football (or any other sport for that matter). If Suarez didn't play on the highest level and wasn't so famous he would have had a lifetime ban from football in pretty much every country so why not here? This is, in my eyes, the lack of justice the FIFA displays.
That's precisely my point. Burden of proof should lie with the prosecution not the defense. Otherwise people would constantly accuse each other in the hopes of getting some advantage. I also think they arrived at the verdict extremely fast. They should've preventively banned him from the match against Colombia and ensured they gave his case thorough consideration.
I am left wondering though, if this is how they punish a player that doesn't commit grievous bodily harm, how will FIFA punish those who commit worse offenses like purposefully breaking another player's leg? 20 matches? 2-year ban from entering any football field? There are interesting times ahead of us.

It was a harsh punishment but you don’t bite people in football so i agree with the punishment.

The part I vehemently disagree with is the 4-month ban from any football-related activity. Not being able to watch your team play the World Cup is pushing it.

They probably thought he might bite a spectator on the neck if his team was losing.

I'm no expert, but I think that may pertain more to him not playing soccer in other leagues outside of FIFA. I don't think they could ban him from attending any soccer game he paid a ticket for. He probably just couldn't be there on the bench.
Open to challenge, though.

Thai happened because it's the third time he did a similar act. Though i guess the fact that he did this in a event like the WC influenced the decision.

Well to cover your earlier point about it being FIFA's longest ban, it's only their longest ban from a World Cup incident. Eric Cantona was banned for 9 months for kicking a fan, Rio Ferdinand was banned for 8 months for forgetting to turn up for a drugs test(his first and only offence). 4 months for his third attempt at cannibalism isn't that bad in comparison, especially when there's no competitive football for one of those months.
What more evidence do you want? Some sort of crime scene investigation and searching for Suarez DNA on Chiellini's shirt? You've seen the video evidence and the marks on Chiellini's shoulder. Seriously, what more do you want? Why would FIFA drag it out? He bit someone(again), he's been banned for a combined 17 matches in the past and he's still biting people. He needed a bigger ban and I think they have been too lenient on him. Whoever it was that tried to make Chiellini cover his shoulder when he was showing the ref the bite marks should also be banned for a couple of matches.
If it can be proven that a player attempted to break another players leg then I see no problem with giving them a 2 year ban or a ban for life. The problem is that it's much harder to prove the intent in that than it is to prove that some cretin sinking his teeth into opponents is trying to hurt people. You're looking past the issue too much, yes there are other big problems in the game, yes FIFA needs massive changes. It needs to bring in more technology, it needs to get a better system for retrospective punishment to players that attempt to commit harm to other players and for divers among other changes. But none of that has anything to do with Suarez. It's quite simple, he keeps biting people and he refuses to accept he's in the wrong and that gnawing on people is utterly unacceptable on a football pitch. Any punishment he got for the third offence had to be much more than the previous two.

It's a stadium ban so he isn't allowed in the stadium at all.

Well if he wasn't going around biting people(again) then he could have, you know, actually played in the remaining World Cup matches. He is a very rich man, I'm sure he can afford a tv. Poor Luis, not allowed to watch matches just because he wants to eat people. The world is an unfair place for poor Luis, he only gets paid thousands a week to do something most would do for free. He is only lucky enough to be one of the best players in the world. It's completely unjust that he isn't allowed to eat who he wants while putting up with this persecution of being well paid and well endorsed to live the dream of millions of people.
He shouldn't be allowed to watch his team or be anywhere near the World Cup, he's brought disgrace to it and his team. I don't get the attitude of people trying to defend him or claim he's hard done by. He knows he's not allowed to bite people, he knew the potential punishment and yet he still did it...again. He's shown he doesn't give a f*ck about his team or his country, he's let you all down just so he could taste man flesh again. You had an outside chance of winning it, you had two of the best strikers on the planet who are a handful for most defenses and he decided that sating his unnatural urges was more important than anything else. He should be a national villain, but for some reason he is being defended and everyone else is accused of conspiring against him. I really don't understand it.

Among African teams Nigeria and Algeria showed the best performance though not very champion like. Ghana was a great team until Muntari and Boateng got fired and there were distractions in their team. Ivory Coast was a good team, but an exhausted one (old players). Cameron was absolutely weak.
Asians were miserable this year. At least Australia and Iran showed one good match each.
