The Red Templars would definitely be interested in finding and excavating Primeval Thaigs, and we would definitely be interested in stopping their little expedition, RTCW style.
Red Templars? Are they like Cerberus from Mass Effect?

Maybe we will find more lyrium idols.

Kinda, Cerberus had a mad science division, the templars have a mad geology one.

Lol, not something you hear everyday.
"Have you heard about the new Mad Geologist down on the first floor?"

Hopefully. I want to know everything there is to know about that Thaig. I don't care about the lyrium. I want to know the history.
I've always believed that the dwarves were the first people to inhabit Thedas, not the elves, and that the Primeval Thaig was once part of their civilization, only to be lost when a global catastrophe happened and destroyed their empire. Like maybe when a bunch of dragons got imprisoned underground, well below Deep Roads level.
That is a very interesting theory.
where these Thaigs built on top or near an Old God prison, I'm thinking the Old Gods can corrupt Lyruim.
We who are forgotten, we remember,
We clawed at the rock until our fingers bled.
We cried out for justice, but were unheard,
Our children wept in hunger.
So we feasted upon the Gods.
Here we wait, in aeons of silance.
We few, we Profane
That's fascinating, seems like the profane "race" will definitely return in Inquisition.
The whole Dwarves and lyrium thing sounds like LOTR material to be honest. What better place to trap 7 evil gods with magical powers then within prisons that block magic, with the dwarves digging too greedily and too deep harvesting the lyrium.
so it's possible the ancient dwarves worshipped the lyrium as a god, hearing the voices of the old god through the lyrium and eventually driving them mad. The dwarves that didn't live in these lyrium rich thaigs probably sealed the thaigs to try stop the madness from spreading, leaving those trapped to starve and eat the lyrium to survive.

It would also explain their lack of magic. If lyrium naturally is in blood, and at the same time a drug it would make sense to build a tolerance or immunity. If the primal dwarves used lyrium every day and built up a immunity to the poisonous effects it could explain the dwarven loss of magic, and their magic resistance. So because of this dwarves evolved a lyrium immunity or tolerance. So maybe if you had a large amount of lyrium you could spark the magic in a dwarf. It would explain Sandal because he was left in the Deep Roads as a baby meaning he would have had a lot lyrium exposure.
This also makes it easier for the red lyrium to start affecting them, just being in the same building as the Idol fragment affected Varric. Also the song Bartrand was on about hearing might have a connection to the Old Gods, seeing as the Mother commented on the Old Gods call being music or a song in DA:A
