Little bits of lore you wanted to see

So I was playing the trilogy recently, and while reading the codex I got to thinking about how big the Mass Effect universe is, and how many little things went unexplored, either because they were irrelevant to the plot, or just an interesting piece of the codex that never got elaborated on.  So I want to ask you all what little bits of lore you would have liked to have seen in the series. Did you want to explore the giant gun that struck Klendagon?  or maybe met a Raloi or virtual alien in person?

For me, I was always fascinated by the fact that the Citadel is actually a giant mass relay.  This was a huge deal in ME1 and then kinda forgotten about.  They don't even really shoehorn this fact into the mumbo-jumbo of why the Citadel is the catalyst.  I would have really liked to have seen something huge jump in through the station, and how such an energy surge would affect those living there, or better yet, used the Citadel relay and see what is on the other side.

I want to see how exactly the political system actually works.

First off, what powers do the three/four councilors actually have? And how do they get it? And with what authority do they wield it? And what level of autonomy do they have?

Also, the names of the Asari Republics, Turian Hierarchy, and Salarian Union.

What happens if one happens to be a salarian born on Palaven? Are you, as a salarian, a citizen of the Turian Hierarchy? Humanity has it right, as it's not the Human Systems Alliance, but the Earth Systems Alliance.

On a somewhat mundane level, just how mass effect tech has changed day-to-day life and the industrial framework on Earth.

That would have been interesting imho as well.

Beyond that... and maybe not lorewise so much. I'd have liked to see atleast one person somewhere in the ME universe actually ponder a counter to the reapers. A little related to that klendagon gun scar. Ie. a scaled up cannon that kills reapers and why, though it might seem obvious, we can't just build a fleet of ships or stations with such a gun. Even if you believed that sovereign was a one of a kind geth ship, it would have shown that ships of that size and that technology level was possible and it would seem wise to ponder a counter.

(*Aside from the Citadel...)

ME1 was mostly on uncharted or backwater human worlds, while I just wanted to explore Council planets.

ME2 was mostly on backwater and periphery locations, while I just wanted to explore Council planets.

ME3 gave me Council planets, but in bloody ruins during a war.

So yeah give me Council planets, but without a catch. :pinched:

Alien culture - music, art, language, dance. We get a taste of this on Tuchanka in ME3, seeing their architecture and art. We're told by multiple sources that the Quarians were famed for their music, poetry, and dance ("they had old souls"). I'd have liked to see this fleshed out for more cultures. Shows people what they're working to preserve. We hear of Asari art, but see far too many strippers - maybe things like the fall of Thessia would have had more impact if we were shown, not told, that it was the "crown jewel of galactic civilization." Victus talks of fifteen thousand years of civilization being erased - I'd have liked to see Palaven at some point.

Dragon Age: Origins did a fantastic job with this. Its codex drilled all the way down to a close examination of the Elven pantheon and folk songs and stories from different cultures.

Give me a fully developed Citadel.

I'm willing to accept that the entire game will take place in the Citadel, that's how bad I want it.

Don't give me another: 'look at this huuuuuuge space station. You can only visit a portion of the Presidium, and maybe 1 or 2 wards, and the docks of course. Cause they are so interesting, those docks'

More exploration is good, but it needs to have places of interest and... No elevator rides... Then I'd prefer loading screens with codex entries and more real dialogue.

I am still a little disappointed Ksad Ishan and the science team who made it through the Conduit weren't in some way involved with the Crucible. A little touch like that would have gone a long way to legitimising the endings for me.

Also, I'm surprised the Dark Energy effecting stars storyline wasn't explored in ME3, as it was what I thought to be a possible reaper killing tech when I heard about it in ME2.
