Loghain in Inquisition

Also, do you think he might show up in Inquisition? If so how will he have changed. As a Grey Warden will he be an enemy or an ally? How much has he changed in ten years?

*knowing it would never happen, but imagines with glee how awesome it would be to have loghain and alistair begrudgingly fight side by side to defend ferelden from demons*
Loghain: I never thought we'd ever find some common ground boy.
Alistair: And all it took was a demonic invasion on our home.
Loghain: All these years and still with that lip...any kids yet though?
Alistair: Is this really the time? and I'm not comfortable talking about my *private matters*
Loghain: Your private matters are the concern of all Ferelden.
Alistair: Well that's not scary or creepy at all...

it would be wise i guess, to have several different saves with different outcomes.
but again, with the introduction of the DA Keep it's hardly matters.
Besides if you spare Loghain and recruit him in the party, it's Anora who will lead the attack on Denerim. So i my eyes, difference between King Alistair and Warden Alistair is not that great. In both cases he is worthless.

I can't help but think of Alistair and the Warden as the new school Maric and Loghain. I can't off him. A waste of such a great character. He did go on a ruthless streak, but for good reasons. The way I look at it: my Wardens always leave with Morrigan, Alistair always becomes King (unless my Warden does), and Loghain always does the Joining to keep the Order strong in the Warden's absence.

I almost always recruit Loghain. I think out of all the times I've played Origins, I've killed him...twice? Maybe three times, but once was accidental.
Love the guy. Great dialogue.

I'd be saddened if Loghain *doesn't* show up. He was specifically assigned to Orlais and Inquisition takes place in Orlais. I think if the wardens start going gaga he'll be one of the few to remain sane besides our warden companion.
I keep him alive every time I play through Origins and if you want my advice, you should do the same...it can't hurt to hope we'll see him again.

In one of the epilogues for Loghain it was said that the taint advanced in him quickly.
With that in mind I think it would be cool if you ran into Loghain at a time when he was either on his calling, or about to depart for it. A side quest where you aid Loghain in his final fight in the Deep Roads (to the death, of course) would be kind of cool.

I've let Loghain and Alistair live in a playthrough, and it makes for nice variety. Since he is stationed in Orlais (at least based on what he says in Awakening when he comes see you) then it would make sense if we come across him. I can't decide how he would feel about everything and the Wardens by then though, since the Wardens have been pretty hush hush about what they've been doing for a while.

After ten years, Loghain is probably dead.

If you're on ps3 the hardening didn't work and recruiting Loghain will result in Alistair to either die or become a drunkard.
odd, worked for me. i used both a fat ps3 (40GB model) and a slim (120GB model), which one did you use?
perhaps it was something to do with the CD version as well, was it US, UK or another country version?

I think I saw an twitter post comment of how they saw Simon Templemen recording at Bioware's. I think it was from Felicia Day.
But at any rate. It would be cool if he showed up. Loghain is alive in my main save.
Edit: No, it was not from Felicia, my mistake, here is the post mentioning it:

you have to have 100% friendship with Alistair, he has to marry Anora to keep both of the characters alive, also If you do not have max relations with Alistair he'll become the wandering drunk (Unless you let Alistair become king then Loghain dies gotta marry the queen. (IIRC)

One of the epilogues said that Anders came back to Vigil's keep after two months and stayed with the wardens permanently after that.
That epilogue gives them an excuse not to use Loghain if they can't fit him in, but it's not something that prevents them from using him if they want to.

I hope so, Loghain got the short straw in DAO, we didn't get to see as much of his full character (as compared to Stolen Throne where he was a great character). DAI is his chance to show a different non-power-hungry-maniacal version of him. I hope he interacts with some Chevaliers and calls them out at the Battle of River Dane.
Chevalier: Who do you think you are, dog lord? Kneel before your betters.
Loghain: Funny, the man who I took this armor from said the same thing, right before I killed him and routed an army of his so-called 'elite' Chevaliers. If you wish to test me I have been looking for a newer set of armor.
Him pissing off Chevaliers would be awesome ![]()

Am I the only one considering the possibility that feathers IS Loghain?
Not now. But it does seem a stretch, but Loghain is someone who some people killed in their playthroughs, and Bioware doesn't add possible deaths as repeat companions.

Good one. Though that does seem like plenty of reason for him not to be Loghain. Oh well, I'd probably prefer someone new then him anyways. Not now. Anders...
Difference is Anders can kind-of be rezzed without breaking your story. But people who killed Loghain specifically chopped off his head, he's dead as a door knob (though what is particularly dead about a door knob...)

So was Leliana. It's not fair to say that bioware retcons everything and kills/revives people for convenience. The DA team does that, But as I recall Mass Effect was the opposite. All returning companions in me3 that died in the crossovered data simply didn't return.Difference is Anders can kind-of be rezzed without breaking your story. He's probably dead. I mean, he was old and if you don't kill him in Origins(I always do) then he will probably be dead from the taint.
