(Unless it was all in CGI, and made by Bioware....)

Pretty much. People just aren't used to a game that stacks up favorably to cinema. It's a reflex for many to want a movie of a game they like. It's sort of like a phantom limb.kelmar6821 wrote...
it already is a movie

Your asking the wrong question, you should ask: 'Would you like to see the mass effect story mangeled and destroyed so that some fancy hollywood director can put in as much special effect's as possible to satisfy his eyecandy addiction'
To that the awnser would be No.

You could spell out the obvious, but I liked my asinine question reflecting the thread topic.
Though I believe one day the Mass Effect series could be expanded by movies. We don't need to see the same plot repeated on screen in a different interpretation. Star Trek was pretty open, I can't understand why they chose a TOS "reboot" "alternate-bs"

It just wouldn't work. I'm sorry but... just... no.

with the same voice actors.
real actors would ruin it, their image and voices would ruin the game experience.
ONLY if CGI

If may be possible if they hired a great director and it was produced and co directed by bioware. The story would also have to be true to the established lore, but revolve around characters other then those in the games.
I will agree it would have to be a full CGI also.

Geroge Lucas or Peter jackson for Directing they both have the best 3D Resources available not to mention both of their departments are Greatly experience in their work. Although im leaning towards Peter Jackson more because he uses Weta Workshop and They work Miracles with what they get

Frankly, I don't think one movie would be enough for Mass Effect. The best option for the movie would be an adaption of one of the novels or Redemption. If the movie absolutley had to be based on the game, it should be done as a trilogy, shot Lord of the Rings-style. Get all the major celebs who voiced characters in the game-David Keith, Seth Green, etc.-to play the movie versions of their characters. For the alien squadmates, have them CGI with the original actors providing the voices. For major plot choice moments, let the fans vote.
As for Commander Shepard, I'm not sure who could play Femshep. For a male Shepard, I think Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth would be good choices.
