I never use Geth scanner when I solo. Actually I very rarely use Geth scanner even outside of solo'ing.

Yes, I either use grenade gear or geth  However lately I've been attempting solos with my smashguard and smashdept, I always run the scanner on those dudes because it's too much fun trolling phantoms and lolgoons through walls.

I wouldn't use it while soloing bronze or silver because it's subjectively easy enough as it is. Gold + though and I could see myself using it on a bunch of characters. I usually only try one solo a week though because it's too much butthurt.

Geth scanner is a crutch, and only absolute n00bs use it.

I don't use Geth Scanner. Once I had to explain why not, so I have the information fresh. I don't use weapons that allow wallhax, most of the time and my gaming style is probably the slowest you've ever seen, so I made a habit of checking my corners and keeping an ear out for sounds. Also, the Geth Scanner disorients me. I usually use Survivor Loadout instead, because there's so much bullshit to take you down. Plus, if timed correctly, they can save you from a certain sync kill. If not, well, at least I had the option and the Ops to spare.

Never used it during solos.  Rarely use it with team play.

I didn't use it back when I had to do 2 gold solos for BotB... because it wasn't released then. The other 2 or 3 gold solos I did after that I had a geth scanner equipped, it's just too good a piece of gear, especially when soloing.

 

Team games however, I only use it on kits that would benefit from wallhax, Smashbros in particular.

The awareness is nice but it also helps me find my wave budget enemies easier where I can eat the budget faster. Scanner is better than AC for increasing clearance times and success rates on most boards, Glacier or White I guess could be exceptions.

I don't rely on Geth Scanner for most kits. I am not a fan of it overall and find it a game breaking gear. I only use it on a few kits such as the Fury, Cerberus Adept, Geth Juggernaut, & Paladin as it benefits those kits greatly over others, due to their unique powers.

Sure. I solo all the time without a Geth Scanner. Of course, I have yet to successfully complete a Gold solo... so... hmmm... :-/
