I have found the Topsider's Hilt and the Topsider's Pommel in Caridin's Cross and i just know that there is a Topsider's blade out there that will complete the combination and give me an awesome sword, so if anyone knows where to find it or some thing that goes with the Topsider's hilt and pommel please tell me

never mind i went there an was attacked by an ancient dark spawn and he had the blade , but now how do i forge it together do i go to the dwarves or the elves since it is of elvish make

What does your journal say? Anything about finding a grave?

no, but after finding the hilt and pommel in the cross i went to the ortan thaig and directly to the right when entering the thaig there is a space with the crushed stone that has random stones and the topsider's grave which has his epitaph in it where the dwarf who delivers it remarks that the blade was lost, and so when you told me the blade was in the dead trenches i went back and was attacked by the ancient dark spawn in the tunnel in between the two bridges or the second tunnel that you go through; who had the topsider's blade on him when i killed him

Hmmm, I haven't been able to find it - even went back and searched. Where is that ancient darkspawn in the Dead Trenches?

There os only one way through, so you will meet him sooner or later.. there is no way arround him.

Thats odd... I managed to get the grave, the hilt and the pommel, and I went through the entire Dead Trenches, twice, and I never found this Ancient Genlock to drop the blade.



It's driving me up the wall, this.

I only found the pommel but never found the hilt. I ran through the dead trenches twice, and that ancient genlock is nowehere to be found. Where exactly can this ancient genlock be found. Or where did others found the hilt? I fear I've run into a bug.

I think he may be one of those triggered NPC's where you have to have the first 2 pieces? He is though listed as a Ancient Darkspawn (Hurlock not Genlock), who has appeared to me as Orange on 2 Plays now.

Yeah, I never found the blade as well. But I never found anything to go with my bag of limbs either. You'd think the latter would start to smell after awhile...

I visited the sarcophagus (codex) and found the pommel... is there another item to be found? I searched both areas very thoroughly.

i forgot which parts (limbs thing) comes from where but you can find one in thaig Aeducan, and two in Caridin's crossing

I think those are for a quest called Asunder.  There's a piller somewhere where you can summon a demon and have him grant you gold.. or a fight.  xp or 25 gold.

I'm currently having trouble finding the hilt of the sword of the topsider.

I allready found his tomb (sarcophagus) and the pommel in a vase, in death trenches I didn't find anything... some say you have to kill an ancient hurlok or genlok, but I've never run across one. I get the feeling that I've run into a bug.

I am stuck also. I have the hilt but can't find the pommel. Does anyone have a specific location for it? Was it on a body? I have killed everything in Caradin's Crossing, Aeducan Thaig and Ortan Thaig, plus thoroughly searched and re-searched all 3 and can't find the pommel. Do unlooted corpses disappear after a while? So maybe I'm out of luck if I haven't found it by now? I'd rather wait on going into the Dead Trenches if I still have a chance at finding the pommel.

I never found the hilt, game now over.  Some future playthrough, I guess.

Anyway, one of the pieces--the pommel I assume--is in the junk at the crazy guy's (Ruck?) camp.  This is the dwarf who ate darkspawn meat.  Filda's son.  Very sad story, that.

Anyway, I promised not to take his stuff,  but poked around a bit and, what do you know, a pommel.  I didn't take anything else--I have some honor--but I figured he wouldn't miss the pommel.

Was that in Dust Town? I vaguely remember the guy but I don't think I took anything from him. Seems like he ran off after I talked to him. Maybe I should talk to his mom again. Thanks for the heads up! I just went and got Shale in the meantime, can't wait to see how he does. I may do Warden's Keep next, see if a good sword turns up there.

No, he was in one of the Deep Roads locations, not Dust Town.  Can't remember which one.

You talk to him briefly, and he runs off into a cul de sac while you're being attacked. If you follow him, he tries to warn you off; he's a scavenger and it's "his" find or something.   I calmed him down, and heard his story, then poked around his den.

The cul de sac doesn't lead anyhere, so you might have missed him. But it's not really hidden--just a right turn instead of a left.

You need to have both the hilt and pommel for him to appear. He is somewhere around the center of the Dead Trenches (and a bit to the south perhaps). If you cleared the aread before having the 2 pieces, you may need to revisit it, or travel back and forth until you get him. Worse case scenario, reload an older save and only come to the Trenches after having the 2 pieces.

I got this without worry, stuck 3 +8% spell resists gems in it, and let Alistair rock the house. He had exaclt 100% frost resist with this, templar armor, juggernaut gloves, and the 20% neck, and 2 10% rings.



And then, I made him leave me at the landsmeet without unequipping him. D'oh ...
