There was an interesting line of party dialogue in the DA:2: Legacy dlc that could only be heard by adding Isabella as a fifth party member (with the others being Bethany, Sebastian, and Varric) with pc codes. I'm wondering why this line was even recorded seeing as nobody on console or doesn't use pc console commands will be able to hear it, unless this is one off thing or a hint of increasing the party limit to 5 (it would make sense with the increased companion list of 9 and any others to be added via dlc).
Is it possible to increase to increase the party limit to 5

We're not getting any DLC companions this time.
I'd love to have a party of five - I always used the mod that makes Dog an extra addition in DAO - but I don't think it's going to happen.

I'd love a party of 5 as well. Particularly if there's a pet animal as a companion like the Mabari... it should get a free slot! ![]()

I think like one old old old piece of information said you could drag around four companions but I haven't heard anything of that since so it might not have been accurate or might have been scrapped.
Or I could have a terrible memory. That's probably the case.

Cross-gen so I'm going with not going to happen.

5 slots would be good I think.
Bound by Flame failed for me cause only had one person and they kept running into the middle of a swarm. Would been far better with two companions.

Yeah, pet taking a slot wasnt good. Mabari specifically is what I reference.

SpoilerOverall I didnt care for it. It requires player timing not character skills. If you like that.![]()
Thats Bound by Flame. The Ranger is far better at one on one encounters and the Pyromancer with the demon path will scythe through the game like a knife through butter and never run out of mana.
When you consider it was a made by a tiny team on a tiny budget it's a very decent game.
I agree with you on the difficulty thing. Spiders just love to make hard games, Not sure why, they would do far better if they dropped the default and lower difficulties to something anyone could handle.
The companions are fine once you work out what they can do. The game is really bad at telling you that.

Well I would like more then three companions at a time but in origins as a ranger I could summon an extra pet to help out and in DA2 I could summon Dog so I would count that as an extra companion. I just hope we have something like that in DAI, preferable a summon like in DA2.

Well most mmos do a 5 player party. so I kind of like that da is 4 peoples. But pets should not take up a slot. that was the reason the mabari in dao became a camp puppy.

Personally I always find it so strange that all 8-9-10 companions go to Redcliffe, but 6 of them sit out at camp waiting for you to come back. It's like
Warden - 'The world is in danger and we need to save it. This will be an incredibly difficult fight, so I will take 3 of you with me, the other 5 can sit here and wait for us to return.'
Unpicked Companion - "Umm, if it is so important why don't we all go to better ensure success?"
Warden - "DON'T TALK NONSENSE. Onward to glory my lucky 3 companions!'
It would be too much micromanagement to control all 10 party members in Inquisition, but it just seems strange from a story point of view.
Anyway, I'm down for increasing the party size to 5 or even 6 (beyond that is pushing it though)

As long as we get rid of the dreaded "You must gather your party before venturing forth", I'm fine.
Because sometimes I really, really hate it when you play as rogue, go all sneaky, stealth around the enemy putting traps behind their backs, planning to go away again, unstealth right in front of their eyes and see them all asplode as soon as they move (and hence triggering the trags lying at their feet or between them and me), only for one bloody oaf of a companion to disregard his "stand there and do nothing" order, of course get noticed by the enemy and the traps I had just laid with my cunning plan in mind BLOWING UP IN MY OWN FACE BECAUSE I WAS STILL IN HARMS WAY BY THE TIME THAT STUPID LELIANA RAN RIGHT INTO THE BLOODY BATTLEFIELD!!!!
Playing alone by myself (this is not an innuendo) would save so much headaches from time to time. Depending on playstyle of course.
I'm sure a mage playthrough running with four/five or so meatshields/distractions whilst you prepare your Storm Of The Century is a neat idea too.
