If anything is at E3, it will probably just be a short title video with some clue about the setting of the game for teh speculationz.

Something along those lines, yeah.  Yanick Roy asked his Twitter circle a few months ago about what the fans would like to see out of a trailer, and I doubt he'd do that if they weren't, yknow, starting to work on some kind of trailer.  I think the results of his inquiry were that people wanted to see the setting and the protagonist, so something quick that covers those bases would be likely.

Protagonist (most likely male for the sake of the video, although it would be nice to see a female protagonist) looks out over a field of stars through a window of a ship. The view pans out to reveal the ship passing by the corpse of a dead Reaper, floating silently in space, while it travels towards a Mass Relay. Fade to title - Mass Effect: Speculations.

That's about the extent of what I'd expect from the first trailer. No matter what clue they give about the setting, I'd expect a fair number of people to flip their ****.

what is this thread

The result of gaming research since 1983, apparently.

Ah, the 80's. I remember having an Atari (well it was my brother's), and playing Adventure and thinking that **** was awesome. Adventure was my first Rpg. Old school yo. You kids these days with your Massive Effects and your baggy jeans and your hippity-hop. Gotta appreciate the classics. In my day the protagonist was a few blocky squares and a handful of pixels, and we were happy for it.

Can you imagine trying to describe video games of our youth to your grand-kids or something? My god. "And we had this game with this plumber, who's arch nemesis was this turtle-dinosaur thing that breathed fire. And let me tell you about this blue hedgehog who could run really fast".

I envision myself lecturing my grand-kids on the virtues of classic gaming while blasting Snoop-Dog (Lion?) on the classical radio station. Not because I particularly like Snoop-dog, or rap, but just because trolling people who can't tell if you are joking or senile is one of the benefits of growing old.

You know how you can tell when an OP is trolling? They post once and then vanish from their own thread.

Pixels? Bah! Real gamers don't need graphics. Zork rules!

Nah. This guy's a regular over on the DAI boards. This is just his style. Random capitalization and all.

Rumor is the next ME is subtitled "Contact". "Origin" is the other possible name but I'd hedge my bets on "Contact" being the name. PS4/X1/PC only.

Either it's going to be at E3 or it isn't.  Personally I'd rather wait a few more months to hear the game is going to be set during the First Contact War with an emphasis on Multiplayer so I can at least love Mass Effect a little longer, I'm not quite ready for our relationship to end, but once that game is announced it's going to be a messy separation, some tears, some broken plastic thrown around.  I dread the inevitable day.

I wouldn't be surprised if there  is no information given about the next ME game until after the release of DAI

In case you want some more solid info to suggest that the next Mass Effect will be at E3, check the twitter thread. Here's what we've gotten over the past day (literally) as hints:

Tweet 1: Aaryn Flynn saying to stay tuned for info...

I just want someone to acknowledge the next Mass Effect. Give me a logo. A title. Gimmie SOMETHIN'!

Tweet 2: Casey Hudson, director and father of the Mass Effect universe, on his way to E3 and tweeting about the Mass Effect in general.

For #E3 @CaseyDHudson and I should have taken this Mass Effect inspired jet! #Fitting #N7 pic.twitter.com/fZ7fb40NK1

Tweet 3: Yanick Roy, head of Bioware Montreal and of the next Mass Effect, teasing it even more.

Excited to be heading to LA for E3 this morning. My last visit was 8 years ago!

@user Mostly to learn from watching Dragon Age: Inquisition go through the gauntlet... Mostly. :-)

Combine these with all the rumors that have been circulating, and I'd say the chances of ME Next being present at E3 are quite good :)

That's a pretty safe bet.
