I always always try to make it as fun as I can, so I make it a goal to stick it out with the kits I enjoy using the most (otherwise I wouldn't find any incentive in doing plat solos), and put up with whatever objectives get tossed my way* and not to take it too hard if I don't end up getting that X waves survived medal. Because some good fortune could come my way if I resist the temptation to rage quit. It has happened before..

*Except for wave 3 targets. **** that noise. Auto-ragequit.

66666 shotgun GI feels about the same as 45665 shotgun GI, but it's probably better if you run a sniper build. I'm not a very good sniper, though, and better players might find more of a difference between the two builds.

Just try to minimize your own mistakes and don't get frustrated about things outside of your control.

I've failed twice on solo golds (both after completing the wave 10 objective) and got sync killed in a solo bronze once (extraction)

 

never failed a solo silver that I recall

I'm extremely late to this thread, but just wanted to say that I share your frustration with soloing Ari. I can manage a good completion percentage if I take....my....time... in gold or plat solo attempts. This leads, however, to paltry times and if I'm engaging in a theme challenge completion time is in the back of my mind. Making me impatient, which is the cause of 90% of my fails. Then I'm usually too irritated to attempt again. I'm glad to see some players far beyond my skill level suffer with the same feelings..it's comforting albeit not a "picnic" for you all

Your alot like me then. Our Blackwatch Original times are 3 minutes apart. So really what I learned and will take into the next challenge I attempt is that I don't care about my time, just completing it is what matters. That's the real accomplishment.

I enjoy soloing at times, but have to be in the mood and have to play aggressively.  I used to be happy kiting enemies around the map to get the solos done, but now I only retreat when necessary.  If I happen to fail, it doesn't bother me as long as I felt my game play was solid.  I know the mistake that lead to my failures and still make them from time to time.  Battling the RNG for quality objectives is the only real source of frustration that I encounter at this point.  Triple targets or triple devices will usually cause some level of frustration.

I only keep trying because I know I can do it. I just need the focus. It's a little disheartening to get really far only to fail, but you shrug it off by really thinking about what you did wrong that caused you to fail. It can end up making you a better player or making you bitter.

Time-taken is proportional to success rate for me! And that's a little sad since even my fastest times are not all that fast. Overall I'm probably 90% successful if Its a straightforward (ie easy) challenge, but some of the tougher themed challenges might be as bad as 1 in 10. Currently trying to do a "proper" platinum solo with GI and I'm 0/2 (wave 10 devices, and wave 8)- both vs collectors.

What pisses me off is DCing in the last few seconds at extraction. That's happend far more than actual failure.
