Planning on playing through all NWN2 campaigns as I never quite finished the OC so never knew much about the expansions. 

Can you play through all 4 with the same main hero from the OC? Or are the expansions intended for a new character as SoU and HotU were to the OC of NWN1.

Also, would these be played in order of release OC -> MotB -> SoZ -> MoW ?

MOTB is a sequel of the OC, with the same protagonist.

 

SOZ takes place at the same time of MOTB, with a different band of low level adventurers. You can technically use the same character, but it won't make any sense.

 

MOW is a standalone module (not an expansion), completely unrelated to the others.

Technically speaking, SoZ must occur slightly after MotB (in order for One of Many to show up).

And Tales From the Lake of Sorrows also takes place at the same time as SoZ or MotB. But with a different low level character.
