In the past, when the topic of revenant came up, the responses were filled with 'use it on TSol, QMS, Destroyer, GI or GT'.

I have always felt that revenant does very good damage if you can land bullets on the enemy reliably. So, instead of using it on the aforementioned five classes (partly because I dislike pure weapon platforms), I tried to experiment with it by using classes that can afford to get up close thanks to tankiness/DR power/stagger powers/speed. In melee range, you can land more bullets than spraying and praying from a distance. You are indirectly compensating for it's accuracy and stability, to an extent.

Characters used: Shaman, Havoc, Valkyrie, BatSent, Batguard

Weapon mods/Gear used: AR stability module and/or stabilization gear III

It's not the most damaging set-up out there but it was a lot of fun doing it. I liked it way more than the revenant destroyer or revenant TSol because it was fun to adjust my playstyle to get the most out of the weapon.

Any one else tried this or a similar set-up where you adjust your playstyle to get the most out of a weapon?

I may try this.

I've always stayed away since I was really disappointed by the Revenant.

It was supposed to be a LMG, yet some SMGs did more damage.  It shouldn't be accurate, but if you do land a few rounds it should tear up your enemy.  Not just give him a scrape.

Used it once and put it away but the trollstore just upgraded it for me so I'll have another go. I enjoy LMG's but didn't get a feel for it, normally you can compensate for recoil to help aim but it felt to me like there was no controlling the awful bullet spread. Even tried burst firing...

Yeah, Hurricane I outdamages Revenant X. Which is beyond ridiculous.

Used it on the BF3 soldier for the 183 pull ups challenge, it was horrible.

I exclusively use it on the Kroguard, actually..

Something that charges straight into optimal revenant range (i.e. the face) is the way to go

I can't stand any of the inaccurate unstable guns.  That is more a reflection on me than the guns.  Hell even with a turian I take extra stability mods and consumables.  I just hate fighting a jiggly gun.

Quick answer : no.

I have tried one time a kroguard with PPR for a gold game against reapers. I maxed weapon damage and put only 3 ranks in BC, used defensively. It wasn't too bad, but, as you can imagine, not the optimal way to play a kroguard.

I remember also to have used a novaguard with Spitfire in a platinum game. Charge had also to be used defensively and Nova through walls. It was quite painful.

Yes, but only with an accuracy boosting mod.

I've used the Revenant on the human adepts, Justicar, and Fury, using the barrage upgrade and stability mod. The effectiveness is pretty good, but the fun factor's worth a try.

Its low accuracy helps, since the bullet spread allows you to spray multiple enemies at a time, giving crowd control and capability to finish whole spawns.

I used it on Batsoldier before, ballistic blades to stun then shoot, inferno nades can stun too, pretty effective, since it's all CQB, you don't need too much accuracy on him.

I use it on a few classes that don't have accuracy boosts. Mostly ones that I tend to get up close with more.

I also hear that it's great because you can damage entire groups all at the same time with it.

It was alright on the BF3Sol for Pres' 183 Pull Ups. Else I've used it on a bonus charge barrier KV, it was fun.

You mean it literally creates a wall of bullets?

Ha. Nope. If I'm gonna have a weapon to use in melee range I'm gonna take a Hurricane: double the damage, faster fire rate & a third the weight. No mods needed.

Inb4Silvairref... Oh :(

The true answer is that I don't even use it on accuracy boosting kits XD

By the way, what did the Geth engi do to you for not being listed in the accuracy boosting kits? XD

Only comes at the cost of your honor.. pyjack. Why don't you go ahead and put an Acolyte and incendiary ammo on there too.. complete your pyjack build.

ME2: all the time, on the soldier class.

ME3: I equipped it once, but only for as long as it took to carry it to the airlock.

I had no honor to begin with. I just couple the Hurricane with my Acolyte. (Oh, hey, nice sig! :-P)
