i'd like the galaxy to jump ahead a few hundred years, so that we get a fresh start, and real trouble could start brewing again without all this "well the galaxy is still in a messy state after the reaper invasion." stuff. Also enough time so that Shepard is kind of a legend, and not something fresh in everyone's collective minds, though unlikely since people have omnitools and extranet.

I would like the protagonist to be an A.I for N7 like EDI and the N7 classes.

I'd like a an intelligent Plant species. The Thorian had such great potential but I felt it wasn't utilized to it's fullest. Could you imagine having a plant crewmen as a squad member? What would they look like? Would they be a clone of existing species? Or would it look like some sort walking green sponge?

Problem here is all such crewman by default have to have humanoid frames which kind of kills the idea that the universe is diverse if every species is a biped, yet still due to the constraints of time and work management, thats what a crewman has to be. They aren't going to spend resources creating quadruped or jellyfish crew members because the cost of animation would likely increase per unique crewman, as each such creature means +1x as much work/time as the normal bipedal races.

Also somethings i just dont want to see. Insectoid races are a nightmare to look at, and i get the feeling arachnid races are getting tiresome (Rachni), sure a plant race might be interesting, just dont try to make them nightmare fuel, i dont want to stare at Swamp thing unless im reading a comic book or a 80s scifi movie. Maybe instead of being plant-like, they share one or two traits with a plant like being photosynthetic, or have a unique reproduction system similar to plants in that they use other creatures to carry their seeds then excrete them else where, i forget the scientific name for this, if there is such a thing.

I would love a spacehamster, being able to make me a freckleshep (ME3 default Shep) in the character creation) and how about a monument of Shepard standing somewhere?

Oh and most importantly super amazing armor customization :D

I'm agreeing with everything said in this thread completely, more so the playable races, deeper romance arcs, a better focus on story and lore, and that "grey morality system"...but did anyone ever consider co-op?  No, I'm not talking the multiplayer horde/objective mode, but a campaign co-op mode in the world of Mass Effect.  I asked if it had been considered, and threw in the suggestion into this moshpit of a thread http://forum.bioware...ss-effect-game/

but never saw a response or consideration.  Would people care for anything like this?  Playing through the Mass Effect universe and story alongside your best bud, girlfriend or boyfriend, husband or wife, or random person online; sounds pretty awesome to me.  Though, it would affect the squad system and another few things as well.  Just throwing this out without any elaboration just yet, but anyone got any input here?

I have several friends who see me playing ME but don't want to do MP they say it'd be so cool to play in co-op mode. one issue I see is the usual your second player being the invisible party member which is something easily avoided by making new cinematic (which I'll go over in my last paragrah below) to start playing co-op mode maybe we must enter the briefing from and hit a button on one of the consoles to call in the co-op member. Then we select co-op local (which is the person is there at your home w/ you) or co-op friends list(this option still allows for co-op but its over the internet you and the friend but at two separate locals you can play together w/o the hassel of the everyone else MP showing up).

It doesn't matter which co-op choice you chose you get the option to pick from either all ground crew member the inviter has gotten onboard the ship or you can choose custom, this custom crewmember has a set name but you can change their sex. Custom hero's for the sake of time aren't made here in this section they're simply able to be retreved from this section a player local or via connection co-op can add upto 4 custom hero's into the data bank but they can make as many as they'd like.

To make their custom import hero you'd do so from the main menu under a catagory known as heros you pick your sex, race, and use the customization from the main story to make your hero you then can assign them 1 of 4 premade names with a nickname for players to make their own custom name to keep them all straight

The reason the name must be preselected is due to the narrative when we call in a ground crew or the premade hero the second player is seen in the story for instance lets say I wanted to play co-op with Jenna she picks a custom hero she picks Garrus. The scene starts with my shep calling in Garrus my Fshep basically tells him we're going to work together as part of our team building exercises (If the player chose a custom crewmember this person would be summoned from outside the ship a specter unit as part of training). Thats all we need to start running around the ship and choosing main, side quest, and just runaround planets to go to) we basically get run of the whole game and can even complete the entire game with co-op the game isn't gated off its just now the enemies and bosses we meet will alternate which hero they decide to kill and when cutscenes happen it varies between hero and co-op player with dialogue acknowledging who is or isn't part of things. For instance if we'd done this back in ME and we're on Virmire and we meet Saren he chose to attack Garrus instead when he's killing Garrus via choke hold, he talks to him about how shep is going to see him die and then he's going to kill her painfully he then punches him. If the player is the one in the choke hold and its co-op then Saren references how sheps going to die infront of (in this case Garrus) then she punches him. If the player was playing solo then the scene plays as it always has.

The second player gets called out via name (this includes the custom heros) in cut scenes and decision scenes too they're asked their opinion for the other player to input on player one as the captain or leader does have the final say but they can go with player two's purposed strategy if they want to. The only way this changes is if player one hadn't reached spector status but player two was called in under the custom status in this case player two makes the final calls as they're higher rank then our player one. The narrative would just state that hey player two you're the spector what do you think? Then player one can make the call or say let player one make that call let them get use to it.
