I'd really rather not have anything new about the Amells. I used to imagine that they were a powerful family from Tevinter, and i don't want it to be even harder to picture that.
I hope we get to found out more about the Amell Family

I may have never completed an Amell playthrough in Origins, but I'm always up for knowing more about any given thing.

I hope not. They already are too prevalent in a world populated with many thousands of families. They shouldn't be an exception, they shouldn't be a special family, lineage or bloodline. It is a bit hacky and gimmicky IMO to have a family that spawns a bunch of heroes. I'd rather see this kind of content avoided rather than promoted. The Amell family was pretty closely tied with DA2, I don't think we need to see or know any more.
On a slightly unrelated note, the only person I really want to see from that family is Charade. She still seems like she has a bit of potential as a character, everyone else I am pretty much done with.

She looks like a thumb. If she shows up, hope she looks like an individual and not NPC #7. /DA2syndrome
I don't know about the interesting part, that'd be up to whatever they do with her later if they decide to.

Oh, I lol'd.
I wish they wouldn't have wasted so many slots on hair styles with those hideous bangs.
I don't really give two squirts about Amells. They got enough air time in DA2, as far as I'm concerned.

No thanks, DA already borders on Small World Syndrome at times, would rather it not be encouraged.

We potentially have 2 demi-god level mages making massive changes in the world that are related to each other and both disappeared roaming about not under anyone's control. In universe organizations like the seekers are gonna explore that angle. Real world I think I would like a codex entry or something to put it to rest.

Cousland = Pretty much defined in DA:O as a minor noble family whose ancestry dates way, way back
Minor? The Couslands rule one of two Terynirs in Ferelden. If the Theirin line fell for whatever reason the Couslands would be first up for the throne. Bryce Cousland was voted by the Landsmeet to become king of Ferelden, but declined. All this without breaking down the Couslands' historical significance to Ferelden. Your definition of minor is lacking.

It is, so why do people keep insisting we run into the same handful of people? Especially for DA it makes no sense, since each game has different main characters. At least in ME, all the people we kept bumping into at least had a connection to Shep in common.

Overstatement, we've seen like 10 or less cameos in DA. And besides, the ratio of new characters to old is like 100 to 1 at least.

If you've got Varric and Leliana, you've got a sensible tie-in to the previous two games.
Though you do need to use it, if you're to avoid "small world" issues - it doesn't help if you just randomly run into people, only if the connection plays a part. Though I guess Leliana is a bit more awkward because she might not have been recruited.

I agree it felt out in place in DA2, but considering we've got a civil war, a rebellion and an invasion all happening at the same time, is it really surprising that we're seeing the old companions coming out of the woodwork to help?

Ugh, no more Amells, please. There is nothing inherently more mysterious about them than any other Origin family. I wouldn't mind a reference toward them, like a book written by an Amell or something like that, but no more Amell (or their cousins) main characters. Like Cipher-six I think that the Amells shouldn't be an exception, a special family/lineage/bloodline. I agree that it's hacky and gimmicky. Honestly, the Amells have had their time in the spotlight, more than most actually, and I'm sick of them.

I love the Couslands but there isn't much more to explore. They're powerful family in Highever that are just below the King. The Amells have some loose ends that need to be tied.
They don't have more to explore than the Couslands do. They were a wealthy family until they started producing mages as well people like Gamlen; then they were all but extinct until Hawke, not Amell, returned to Kirkwall.
The Couslands have much more history than them, anyway.
