I had my hopes up when I saw a clip of Jacob saying something along the lines of "We don't have to worry about fraternization here Commander" in not an official tone..but a 'i could be interpreted as coming onto you if you so let it be like that' tone.
But then...UGH those damn engineer guys brought up fraterization too, but only in terms of 'friendship and playing cards'! MY THEORY-RUINED!
I've seen that scene between MaleShep and Jacob... yes, quite suggestive (from both Shep and Jacob), though perhaps just "gender neutral" writing/staging similar to how MaleShep and Kaidan sometimes seemed. But with the gender neutral writing, making say, Jacob and Miranda bi would have been easy.

Don't bother. Christina Norman confirmed "there will be no female/female love interests in ME2" in one of the published interviews.
Add to that the knowledge that Quarians are gender-defined (unlike Asari) by male and female, and you know Tali will not be a love interest for FemSheps.

I agree...
But I think it would serve only to diminish the game if a DLC was released JUST for this feature. Or if it was over-added into the game. The characters should have SOME reservations, or it just ends up being bland and hollow with no emotional impact.

First, his name isn't Christina. Second, he referred to Tali as the monogendered romance of the first game. He's yanking your chain, and you're being pulled along.

LOL, trust us, the romances have been 100% confirmed. Some of us sail the seven seas waving a cutlass if you get my drift.....

Trust you? As if. Nothing's been confirmed besides the full extent of the options, nothing about what goes to which gender.

I was referring to Christina Norman, the blonde-haired girl dev who voiced over most of the class videos and was featured in the 1-hour playthrough broadcasted on Xfire last week. However, you are right in saying that /she/ was not the one confirming this. It was Casey Hudson in the BestBuy interview where he apparently slipped up by calling Liara Tali, since it would be Asari who are asexual(*). Quarians are gender-defined, and thus Tali would be considered female, and thus no LI for FemShep.
You're right in another regard: I'm reacting to something I shouldn't. Same goes for this post.
(*) "asexual" as a definition for 'not defined by gender' is wrong btw, it actually means 'not interested in sex whatsoever' - however, since Casey used the term, I used it for consistency.

Hope? I'm neutral about the issue. I'm all for maximum variety, but it won't wreck my world if the option isn't there. I'm just plain annoyed by people complaining about an aspect of a game that hasn't had its official release yet, and has nothing but rumours to go by as far its storyline options are concerned. Get the game, play it, then you have the right to complain.

Cautiously, I'm playing with fire here, but last time I checked homosexuals were a minority compared to heterosexuals, so surely it makes more sense to please the majority and thus, more sales, than to please the minority.
Disappointed sigh, or maybe I'm just throwing more fuel on the fire..

You ARE playing with fire here.
It's possible to please both the minorities and majorities at the same time.

Disgruntled, people seem to be forgetting that Mass Effect isn't a game solely for homosexuals.

How is not having homosexual romance pleasing the majority? It's not a matter of leaving out hetrosexual ones and making everyone gay, it's about having both, that way you're not just satisfying the majority, but all of the playerbase.
Besides, regarding the majority thing, the majority of the players are men. What do men like? Yep, lesbians.

But really... I was hoping for a option to charm Garrus over to a gay relationship.....
But I'm also not really so concerned if they don't allow for it. Eitherway.

Anything that adds more options to characters development and interaction is a good addition in my book.
That said they could simply modify some of the existing characters to make a f/f or m/m romance possible (Subject Zero comes to mind), since that would involve tweeking the dialogue a bit and creating/modifying the sex scene.

and if u think of it, you get in contact with renegades = ppl that opose comunity laws, ppl that mostly want freadom. So it would be more normal and it adds more drama to the game...
And anyway, why da hell any one thinks that maleshep is a 100% str8? LOL i know 100% str8 ppl, that are not aroused by the same sex, but looks more obvius than an army of village ppl. you cant say a gay or str8 just by the look.

Compromising, you have to think of the space requirements for another cutscene, I imagine it probably takes up a fair bit of space which could be used by more levels, weapons, armour, etc and since this is an action-RPG and not a dating sim, Bioware place priority on that, rather than romance subplots, I think.
Contemplative, that said, PhroXenGold is right, men do like lesbians...

There are thousands and thousands of dialogue paths in Bioware games. I doubt adding a few more, and removing the gender checks on a few others, would make much of a difference in this TWO disc game...

Agreement, you have a solid point.
Doubtful, isn't it too late to change something like that now? It would require a lot of work, and a timeframe of a couple of days is likely too short.
