How does it alienate you if you DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT? Jesus Christ. Just because there might be a same-sex DLC doesn't mean that it will take away from more gameplay DLC either. Nobody said it had to be one or the other.DeathCultArm wrote...

Anyway, yes there should be something there, though it'd be better if it weren't DLC and instead just part of the main game. It's about as "superfluous" as any of the other romances in the game. And it's a sad, sad day when someone doesn't want to see something in the game that is completely optional, anyway.

This isn't the sims! If you want to live out some sick fantsasy do it on your own time. People bash EA for making poor DLC content decisions all the time, yet there's a topic promoting *** "romances" over items that enhance and lengthen gameplay|!!!!?!?!?!?
Adding more romances has the potential to create an even greater amount of replayability. Replayability lengthens time spent playing the game.
Also, "sick fantasy" isn't very polite. You're a homophobe, we get it, but nobody is asking to make the game force you into a romance you don't want.

While I see no reason why there wasn't a same sex option for both genders, I don't see the market for something like this big enough that they would devote DLC resources to a small part of the community. I would support it, but I don't see it happening.

Cuz, I don't know about you but sitting here right now I have 3 sets of armor and what I assume is the best assault rifle in the game. New armor and weapons are reskinned slightly powered up version of stuff you already threw out of the inventory. Oh, here's the best part, by the time they come out, you'll have already beaten the game a few times so...what's the point?
Replay value? A new look? Same reason some people wear different armor in me1.
Which is exactly why weapons/armor should be done AFTER the gay/lesbian, because the new romance options provide all that and MORE!
Hey, I'm not trying to be a target here. I'm all about you folks gettin your gay on, I just don't wanna lose out on new gear.
Both, would be much better.

What does that have to do with anything? I've been a member of the Bio boards since '06. I would say take your ten seconds and shove it, but you'd probably like that. I'd rather spend my money on new equipment and missions over a romance option I'll never use.ERJAK1 wrote...

Agreed.
Disagreed, spend ten seconds on the board and you could figure that out.
Then don't spend the money on it idiot. Or do you have a compulsive disorder that make's you incapable of reading things before you buy it?
Oh, and being a member of these boards since 06 and not knowing how important the romances are make you a braindead moron. Can you read? I bet your mother reads the posts for you so you can be bigoted and not have to learn anything, go back to J*** O** to the pictures of lynchings you have on your other tab.

ah
yes.. *applauds* very great argument from someone who votes for a niche
DLC, to tell everyone who doesn´t need it to stfu. Really.. that´s what
i call tolerance lol.
@topic - mainly because of persons like ERJAK i don´t want such DLC. Otherwise it wouldn´t bother me, even if i don´t need it.
I
wasn't arguing, he, like you, is needlessly trolling a board for no
reason other then to anger people who desire this content. People like
you are the reason why I am so mad all the time, all you see is me
attacking a "brother" and you move in. You don't see how inappropriate
and unnecessary his comment was. So F*** you too!
How's that for an argument.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/kissing.png[/smilie]
the very moment he disagrees with your opinion, he's a troll? He's not
angering anyone, he's just stating his opinion. The OP asked who would want to see it, and he simply answered the question. I don't see you attacking a "brother," I see you being irrational here.

Don't like, don't buy it. I didn't buy the second Mass Effect DLC because I wasn't interested. That's what choice means.

There are at least six romance options, it's already a dating simulator.

I'll tell you what. You go find us a source where anyone from Bioware or EA said there was going to be only one bit of DLC for Mass Effect 2, and you'll have every right to tell us to shut up. If our request for more story/character development options is the one bit of DLC they do, and it costs you a re-colored gun or re-textured suit of armor, you'll be absolutely right to hold us accountable.
You keep acting like anything you don't want means you'll never get what you do want. Go out into the world. Compromise and rational thinking are almost essential and you seem like you could use a good dose of both.

New weapons and armor are useless in a single player game; a same sex romance DLC would actually add more to the experience. Plus, it could come with new weapons and armor.
Sure for the 10% that like gay romance.
If I was Bioware I would rather tap into the other 90% of the market.
Face it, there isn't a big enough market for this type of stuff.
Had it been, you'd already see gay romance in ME 2.

Because clearly adding a same sex romance = ME2 is not a shooter/RPG hybrid, it's not a shooter, no, not at all
IT'S REALLY A DATING SIM. THAT'S RIGHT YOU HEARD IT HERE FOLKS!

@ Original topic: Sure. Why not? I would be opposed to Love Interest ONLY DLC, but if these LIs were attached to some sort of storyline, then I would not be opposed at all.

It seems like some people play this game just to have romances.
That, or they enjoy the extra immersion of character interaction, which is taken to a whole new level when you can develop a relationship with said character.
Romances are the icing on the well-made cake of Mass Effect.

your half retarded arent you. adding a character that happens to be a new romance option for both maleshep and femshep. doesnt make the game a dating simulator people just want choices. if you add a character in DLC you have to have a quest to recruit them that quest will result in your holy weapons and armor
