Collectors are the most fun faction to fight IMO. I'd even say they have some of the least BS.

When they first came out I thought they were incredibly well-balanced. But between the heat-seeking Scion blasts, the unforgiving DPS even on Silver, and Seeker Swarms I've had enough of them. (Imagine the outcry if there was an enemy that could Overload your weapon and render it useless for 10 seconds.)

Edit: Actually, wasn't there an enemy in ME1 that could overheat your weapon?

I guess I'm in the minority, but I agree with OP. The only thing I like about Collectors is their fat heads and the fact that I know and can easily hit the weak spots on Scions and Praetorians. Otherwise, Scion grenades, Praetorian rockets and lasers, and seeker swarms/plagues are BS

Geth are the easiest faction in my opinion. They don't have Banshees, Praetorians and Phantoms, Headshots are really easy and the Geth's slow moving flanking attacks are easy to evade. They don't have sync kills.

Personally, I find the difficulty with collectors doesn't lie in crazy eye layers or scion warp nonsense or even seeker plagues (although those are obnoxious).

The problem with collectors is that when something goes wrong, it stays wrong. We all have played games where one seemingly innocent knock down turns into an absolute cluster F.....


1) captain surprises you, lights you up, and ops pack doesn't take
2) captain uses his n7 shadow - esque ability to instantly show up to stomp you
3) you gel and the captain gives you the melee stun. While in the melee stun a scion has lobbed 7000 'nades on you, so as you come out of the stun you're downed again
4) captain goes for another immediate stomp but luckily a teammate has arrived to kill him. Unfortunately the teammate also had a scion lobbing 'nades at him, so you get picked up into 'nade stun again.
5) as you come out of the stun the tactical nuke that your teammate cast reave on before picking you up saunters in and dies from the reave, exploding and downing you again.
6) etc etc


Don't get me wrong, I extract against collectors just fine. But don't pretend you haven't been caught in the above mentioned collector infinite loop of nonsense where 1 mistake, 1 surpise, or 1 ops pack not taking decimates a bunch of your consumables.

It happens, and it's annoying, lol. In my humble opinion it's worse with them than even geth (although geth are also annoying with this)

I guess that depends on how highly butt-lazors, dead crab lazors, and shoot-through-cover lazors rate on your BS meter. But one way or another I don't know that anything can truly compete with that Geth bullshit.

 Dach faction has something. Reapers are the least cheap.

Collectors have extreme dps from every unit sans regular swarms, Scion homing warp cannons that stunlock, butt lasers, and PS3 stasis.

Geth just have stunlock and suppressive firepower.

Cerbs just have wolfpack mentality and quantum molecular phasing atlas rockets.

Lots of them.  But they only overheated the weapon you were using, so you could just switch weapons and wait for the first one to cool down.  This really only caused a problem on Adepts, Engineers, or Sentinels who didn't spec into another weapon besides the pistol.

Australian Rules Football player. Former captain of Collingwood and, last I checked, their current coach. I've been in London for a few years though and I haven't really been keeping up. Plus, I was a die hard West Coast Eagles fan so Collingwood is the devil.
