Did EA Store just screw me over?!!!!???!!!

Okay, I am hearing that some people in this forum who has pre-ordered their CE from EA Store, has gotten emails saying that their game is being shipped. Or they have checked their account on EA Store and found out that their game is "in process" to be shipped.

I pre-ordered my CE (360) on December 28th and right now I'm looking at my order summary where it has a product sku and order number. I remember when I first pre-ordered it, EA debited my account the money but a few days later, that money was put back in. I mean, I don't know the details, but after EA supposenly took my money, I had like $8 in my account, and a few days later I had $100, weird.

Anyways, I see that on my order summary it tells me that :

 

  • Look up your order either through “View recent order history and purchase details” link at the top of the page.

Well I did that but I get this message:

No orders were found


Mind you that I'm logged in and everything!

The only explanation I can come up with is that EA just totally screwed me up hard. Somewhere in their system they somehow "Accidently" cancelled my order OR, my order never really fell through in the first place, which is why my account was mysteriously credited back the exact amount that I had paid.

ME2 CE for the 360 is no longer available to order on the EA Store so it isn't like I can just re-order it. Plus it is 12:28AM EST so I cant call a customer service support agent  so I'll have to wait til 10AM EST to call but I can't wait that long because I'm really nervous now and I really can't sleep. Worst case scenario is that they DID F up my order by accidently cancelling it or just not fully processing it. If that is the case, I'm looking on Amazon.com and I see that they have ME2 CEs for the 360 still available but I don't want to order that now until I find out officially what has happened....but I cant do that until 10AM tomorrow mourning....or should I say 10AM later on today (Since it is technically Saturday here in NC).

Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Has anyone experienced this from EA store? Did EA Store just screw me over?

Someone in another thread said the EA Store website was just being screwy. Try checking your e-mail daily for shipping confirmation (or search for that thread).

Call them, they're having alot of trouble with thier site atm. I had the same trouble but I called them and confirmed everything was all good.

I do have an order receipt. It has the Order Number, Billing Information, Shipping Information, Product SKU, date and time ordered, quantity ordered and so on.

Dont tell people they should have bought an electronic copy, this only insitgates PC vs 360 fights. Second MajesticJazz I have the same issue and so do alot of people. apparently EA store sucks and they are in the process of fixing things but its been this way for months.



Call in the morning with your order confirmation number, it seems that most people have found out that as long as they got their game invoice with an order number things will be ok. but it never hurts to call.

Thanks for the support.

Question though, about the billing, did you use a credit or debit card? If you used a debit card, did the same happen to you? Where money was debited from your account and then suddenly a few days later credited back?

Not necessarily the same, but the exact thing that the OP was talking about happened with me when I purchased my Citadel poster through the EA store... however, it actually arrived the day before it was scheduled to... who knows what is happening in your particular case, but it could just be a buggy EA store...

From what I was reading in earlier threads about EA store pre-orders, your order not showing up in order history sounds pretty common.



Same with them charging you at time of order then refunding, sounds like their ghetto way of doing a verification that you have enough credit/cash available to buy the thing. You should get re-charged when the order ships, so make sure you've got sufficient funds in the account.



Bear in mind all of this is second/third hand info, you probably should call to straighten things out for sure if you're super worried.

Yes I agree with DocSun. I also had the same problem. I called them and talked to someone via email, both have told me that my order is fine and it is in the process of being shipped, so I should receive a confirmation soon. I would call them anyways to be safe, but I think your game will be shipped to you just fine.



Also about them taking money out then putting it back, I actually asked them about that when I first ordered. Its standard practice for them, a way of making sure that you have the money to pay for the game when it does ship eventually.

Thanks everyone for the feedback up until this point. Seeing how I'm not the only one in this boat is a bit comforting but I'm still "in the boat" neverthenless so I'm just going to have to call in the mourning to get this all fixed.

As was already said, keep checking your email for an update saying it's shipped. Or you can call up EA Store support and wait however long you have to in order to get someone (I had to wait 45 min) and have them check your order # in the system.



What I was basically told was that if people who ordered haven't gotten an email yet then it's not processed to the point it gets a tracking number yet. If all goes well, you should have your copy by the end of next week.



Given what you said about your money account, maybe you should call them up to verify if you have the time.

That would really suck. Because I'm seeing that there are people who ordered their game from EA Store just a few days ago and they already have a tracking # and is on track to come to their door on the 26th or earlier. But I ordered mine on the 28th of December and I dont' even have a tracking number? And might get it by the end of next week? Even though I paid and extra $16 for 1-2 day shipping? Come on now, they cannot be that screwed up....

Look, I've pre-ordered from EA in the past. If you don't get an email about your game being shipped by Monday evening, then you have cause to worry. The site never shows a previous order history(at least it hasn't for me), but if you are really worried, through the customer service site, you can send in a question about the status of your order. When the correct information is given to EA through this method(I believe it was order number, last 4 digits of the credit card used and the name on the credit card, don't remember for sure), they will be able to tell you the status of your order.

A lot of people having the same problem, myself included. An issue with the website.



That website is so broken.



I asked them a week or two ago and they said my order was placed successfully and would be shipped on the release date. I'm confirming again with another e-mail that I sent today to make sure, because I see no charges to my credit. Maybe they do credit differently, though.

100,000 people dead in Haiti and you can't sleep because of a video game?  Unless video games are the ONLY thing you can do, you might wanna re-evaluate your priorities.  Games are supposed to be fun, not stress inducing.....
