So how disappointed will people be if the warden or DHMG or scribbles get names that aren't what we might expect of them?

Like warden being Higglesworth Bottomsfield III or Scribbles being just named Grunk.

I'm sure we'll like them.

Personally though, if Warden is named that or something like that I hope he is voiced by Christopher Sabat with his Alex Louis Armstrong voice. :P

Not very. A rose by any other name etc (unless of course they were called stench blossoms)

I don't really understand how anyone could either like or dislike Stroud, we saw him for all of 10 seconds in DA2. Unless I missed something big it seems like all we know about him is that he is a GW, and then he disappears.

I don't like Stroud because he's Riordan.  Though I liked Riordan.

Personally I'm really disappointed that Bioware went back to the painfully generic human-with-pointy-ears look for elves.

The interesting thing is, nobody really cares about the painfully generic short, bulky humans with beards, also knows as dwarves ;)

It's not that I don't like him (don't have an opinion on him really)

I'd just rather he be an entirely new character

I think Bearded Warden being Stroud would be neat. A minor character returning as a companion has already been shown as possible with Isabela as well.

Explain how there would be an old god baby if you didn't do the ritual. And explain why morrigan would offer it to you at all if she could just do it willy nilly without your help.

Also explain why they would bother making the inquisitor the OGB. Like..what would be the earthly point? Why bother making a confirmed male human child who would be only ten years old jump through a bunch of hoops to suddenly become either an elf or qunari or woman.

Not to mention they've confirmed that the elven inquisitor is dalish and I'm pretty dang sure Morrigan was not allowed to raise her child in a dalish clan.

I don't have to explain anything. :-) I'm not employed as the writer. I did however show how the possibility exists already within the established story, the reasons for it turning out to be that way would only be fan fiction if I wrote why.

BTW, again, I don't care either way. I just can see it would be possible and easy. And I don't feel it necessary to insist otherwise or slam those who support it. Not saying you slammed someone, just it happens. A lot of negative energy gets spewed here at times.

Dwarves did have some distinguishing facial features though. Mostly their noses. The male ones' anyway.

Can't say I'd be broken up about Grizzled McBeardtaint turning out to be Stroud. If anything I'd find it amusing if he told humiliating stories about Carver's training days in the Grey Wardens.

Not to derail the IB discussion, but I just noticed Sera is wearing plaid leggings. This mean we can get a scottish accent for her? :D

I prefer the other guy's theory (thread on here somewhere) where the Quizzie is the Starfang Meteor Superman Baby.

Their arms also used to be super long. Kinda glad they're dialing that back a bit.

Yeah, me too. Their physique reminded me of gorillas.

Disappointing,

Sten is tied for the best companion dialogue in the series. A lot of people missed out on it because they usually left him at camp/Lothering. A philosophical companion would be nice BeeDubs, just saying.

I'm hoping for a bit more flexibility companion-wise as far as approval.  As you said, I generally left Sten at camp, along with Morrigan and Shale.  Why?  I like helping people.  I'm hoping not to be limited to the same party in DAI just because of my predilections toward Paragon/LS/Diplomatic.

Iron Bull's a Tal Vashoth mercenary, and supposedly something of a violent hedonist.  I suspect he's going to be the anti-Sten  <_<

That has me looking forward to his character.

Sten was a great character, but I wouldn't want the Iron Bull to be Sten 2.0.

Steve Blum voice for IB.

I'd vote for the guy that voiced Shagga, son of Dolf:

He'd be perfect as an ultra-violent Tal Vashoth.

So, on the topic of single-stroke dismemberments, I think I could manage 6 pieces, if I were as big and strong as Iron Bull. You impale your target on a spike dorsally, so that his arms, limbs and head sag towards the ground, then sever the head and all four limbs in a single stroke. Four limbs, one head and one torso makes six pieces.

I'd imaging he'd still give advice. it would just be less philosophical and more of him telling you to just slice your opponent into three neat pieces when he is foolish enough to turn his back on you and avoid the whole honorably duel thing he challenge you to.

Grifter

Thief

Mastermind

It's hard to tell from these quotes, but so far Iron Bull and Sera seem like the only characters who won't disapprove of all the overly violent douchebag choices my Inqusitor is undoubtably going to make.

I really, really like the theory that the bearded Grey Warden is Grigor/Gregor, the heavy drinking warden Alistair mentioned. That would be fantastic.

Keep in mind that Sten isn't necessarily evil. Everything he advocates is filtered by the Qun. Needs of the many over the needs of the one. If killing one scrupulous merchant will benefit an entire village then so be it.

In fact one could argue that none of the companions are evil. Just darker shades of grey. Morrigan ultimately believes in survival of the fittest, Zevran values profit and practicality, and Oghren just loves a good fight. Unless you're playing a hardcore altruist it's not that hard to gain approval with them. Of the bunch Sten is the easiest to gain approval with provided you show curiosity towards the Qun.

I think Sera will actually be one who really disapproves. If she believes that bad things should happen to bad people, and you are a bad person, she'll have issues with you.
