There is a somewhat plausible theory that the Grey Warden companion is Stroud, except a bit older and bearded. There is a strong resemblance between them at least.

Spoiler
Maybe he can be both Alistair's Grigor/Gregor and Stroud? Just, you know, "Gregor Stroud". He has two names b/c he was from a noble family or something.
But where does the GW's mustache start and the beard end?
how does that work????
It's not that I don't like him (don't have an opinion on him really)
I'd just rather he be an entirely new character
He didn't have much characterization in the first place.

That doesn't really change what I said

A wizard did it.

Sure, but how can you be upset with not getting a new character when the old ones don't even get to start development?

Because the old one was kind of generic and had the exact same voice as a previous character who functioned in a somewhat similar role? The concepts we've seen for the Grey Warden have indicated that he might have a complicated backstory and a sense of humor (the picture of him laughing at Sera's story in the tavern). Stroud came across as wholly devoted to the Wardens (his insistence that Hawke will never see Beth or Carver again) and like a humorless ******. I mean, if he turns out to be an interesting character that would be awesome, but the prospect of the GW being Stroud doesn't excite me as much as him being a totally new character.
Yuss! Iron Bull reveal! Shame it's not a front view image like Sera's. Dat quote though, for whatever reason, give me a Sandor Clegane/Hound impression of him. (Qunari version of Rory McCann pls Biowares?) and was I the only one to really li3 Hayders Razor?
Heres hoping the next companion is the Warden or DHMG

And it goes back to my first point. He never had any real characterization. It would be saying back in da2 that Marill would be an uninteresting character because how she acted in dao.
Does Sera wear shoes?
Has this been confirmed or not?
If the elves have to be one with nature and not wear shoes again...
Who said I would be upset?
Using "upset" may of been to strong of a word to use but my point still stands.

Not really, since mines is only a personal preference. If the GW is Stroud then I'll be fine with it

How can you have a preference for or ageist anything that has yet to have a flavor?(Not saying you are ageist him being Stroud.)

Sadly I think Gregor was one of the Wardens that died at Ostagar. Or at least that was the impression I got from that conversation with Alistair. I think he was talking about his dead comrades-in-arms.
Not that I'd object to the Grey Warden companion either being Gregor or someone like him. Gregor sounded like a fun character. ![]()

So they're not iconic and one with nature this time?
Based on Masked Empire only the dalish are this round.

The companion elves aren't.
I can't speak for the Dalish we might run into ![]()

He basically is a new character.
How do you cut someone into three pieces with one swing? Are they bent around or is your sword segmented? Or did you just spin all the way around like a ballerina and hit them a second time?
And I'm loving his armor.
You cut them diagonally, so that way they lose a limb, and their upper and lower body come apart.
Thanks, I just spat meatloaf all over the monitor. ![]()
That was hilarious and I wasn't expecting it.
