They're using the ancient Greek definition.
'They' are using the modern definition. 'They' are EA marketing and not the writers, character artists, or creative heads.

I wouldn't be too sure of that either. Or at least in any negative sense.

That hair is horrible. But it seems like her hair being terrible is part of her character?

You're not sure that the people who handle marketing are the marketing department?
Because we've been told by the developers that they have no control over the marketing of them, including what gets released when.

I have doubts that EA is in total control of marketing and that the developers at are the mercy of their idle whims, yes. I would imagine BioWare to have at least some influence.
Do you have a source for that?
In any case, the relevant issue is the use of the word 'hero.' And whether marketing is conducted wholly by EA or not, we have no particular reason to assume it's representing the game unfairly. It's a powerful word to be associated with the game.

With it being confirmed that characters will take whatever armor you put on them and make it their own, this outfit makes me really excited to see what Sera will do.

You forgot about the totally hideous faces part of the DA2 equation.
Yeah, the in-party elves looked great. The NPC elves looked TERRIBLE.

Merril and fenris did not look hideous. Sure random npcs did but they always do. Half the npcs in origins looked horribly diseased.

Despite Fenris being my favorite romance option in that game, I have to admit that he has a freakish giraffe neck and looks physically unappealing sometimes.

I cant wait for the:
"CONCEPT ART SERA!"
"SERA WITH BETTER HAIR!"
"SERA WAIFU PRETTY BESTEST MOD"
Sorry.
My pet peeve is appearance changing mods really.
That being said I kinda like her look really looks rough and "Hey screw you I wear what I like"

First time I saw the hair I thought it looked terrible, but now I don't really mind.
Final thoughts: 10/10 Still gonna bang her

Elves are back to being short human with pointy ears I see.
I miss the da2 look already with the lithe frames and the big eyes.
You mean the next step in the nug's evolutionary chain with a giraffe's neck? No thanks.

You can't have a chaotic lawful character. Those are two options from the same column.
You're assuming he's talking DnD. He could just be using real world definitions.
Lawful - Abides by a set of laws, her own or societies
Chaotic - Unpredictable, flexible in certain scenarios
They do seem to contradict each other, but there could be certain circumstances where one can be unpredictable and still abide by a personal code.

Avoiding a D&D Character Tangent, I dug the bowl cut and (for the most part) the outfit, though not a big fan of the rips. I usually favor a Black & Red color palette, so.

For some reason think that is the reaction they want for that chars hair and picture it coming up in game and she will be like so.

Nah, I totally agree, small changes are fine, I have a few mods that change Origins characters to look more like their DA2 counterparts but then you have mods that make Aveline look like blonde Angelina Joelie and white washing Fenris and Isabela and I'm just like 'why do you even play this game?'
