I can do it with colour, but gender is far too ingrained in my upbringing. I was raised to open doors, give up my seat and pull out chairs at dinner for women. Hard habits to break.

Ah, yes, my brother's like that. Sometimes he gets all high and mighty and tries to educate me on the basic principles of chivalry. I just go "Yeah, no, that is so 19th century" and ignore him 

 

As a rule, I don't do anything for women I wouldn't do for a man. Unless I find the woman in question attractive, but that's not a matter of gender per se.

Or Cullen! Or maybe even Leliana! Man, so many great characters we know nothing about!

As for now my opinion is that the last three won't be shown this week, so if they're continuing the meet the heroes thing I'd expect Varric or Cass.
It's better than be disappointed in the case I'm right.

They did say that they scrapped the FF because it wouldn't have allowed them to show all companions, so I'd say their goal is to show them before launch.

I would not approach a lesbian woman the way I would a bisexual man, because while the latter may not mind a slightly suggestive or flirty conversation the former would likely find it off-putting or offensive. Were I at a barbecue I would refrain from offering pork to a woman in a hijab. If I were conversing with an elderly person I would avoid making sexual jokes or any loud sudden noises. 

 

That line gave me a hilarious mental image: 

 

"Don't make loud noises around the elderly.  They spook easily."

That's all fine and well, but these aren't people ... they are characters, there to entertain us. Part of that entertainment is titillation.

Or are you saying I should simply find all characters sexy?

PS. not that I have a problem with the companion breakdown.

I am a big fan of language and the various ways even the simplistist things can be interpreted... but how did you possibly come to the conclusion my intention was to say We should be sexually attracted to all the companions?

No disrespect meant to the thread police, they help make things smooth and enjoyable, but the conversation here is brewed from the character reveals. The topic ebbs and flows naturally as discussions do. If that is not staying within the realm of the subject then more thread police might need to be hired as there is a lot of work to do.

Wouldn't be much fun to show it all at once. I'm sure they've got a few wild cards hidden back there. The trailers are very intent not to show Iron Bull's face. Badass build-up, I suppose.

I think they might not be showing Iron Bull's face because he's a Woll Smoth. ;-)

alright so it's a blow across from the shoulder to let say 4th rib, catching a hand. so you will have upper part of the body, lower part and separated arm somewhere in the area of the elbow...

 

so it seems this Iron Bull is not a very bright fellow. I was hoping for Maraas type qunari.

so it seems this Iron Bull is not a very bright fellow. I was hoping for Maraas type qunari.

It seems likely he isn't the sharpest guy but then ME's Garrus used to crack quips like that, especially about his mercenary / Archangel days. So there is hope for a few Shrek like onion layers.

With DHMG in the demo as seen with the Female Qunari pic, his name will probably be revealed tomorrow.

This was disappointing. The trailer barely said another about these party members. I'd have like to at least seem them in action...but no.

another thing about this "meet the heroes" thing.

 

i will bring two examples.

 

The first example is the Silver Surfer of ME universe - Saren. This is guy is our main enemy. However, when you learn more about him you realize than this xenos is scared, not just scared he is terrified. He is victim. It hardly matters is he victim of his own actions or he is a victim of indoctrination, it hardly matters.

 

The second example is Loghain. From the very beginning of the game, developer is telling us that Loghain is in fact a bad guy. However it's not true, man is a sinner yes, but you can't learn more about him and game do not provide you too much chances to know him, unless you trade Loghain for Alistair. So game sometimes gently and sometimes not so much pushing us to make one decision, to execute Loghain and be done with it.

 

Now, "meet the heroes".

 

Example Vivienne girl. She is described by the word "ambition" with a quote about survival. So developer hints that this sweet girl may stab us in the back at some point.

 

So from the looks of it, developer is pushing us to a certain angle from which we should perceive the characters of the game.

I know most people are excited for Sera as they find her more attractive and appealing as a LI but I'm super excited about Vivienne. 

 

She looks amazing and everything about her character indicates I will enjoy having her in my party. She's everything!

Vivienne looks pretty fugly to me. My least anticipated companion and her personality isnt helping. At least we know Inquisition will have awesome dark skin textures.

That smirk though is what really got to me, just the subtly of the moment.  Like she knows something that she isn't telling   Also kinda made me feel like she is one of those characters that I am going to frustrated with choices wise.

Re: Loghain as hero/villain

DAO gives the player the option to decide his fate, that's pretty notable. Also I felt there was plenty of information in the game to make a decision either way. Granted I never let him off the hook, but the scales weren't weighted completely to one side. In many ways I liked Loghain, but a decision had to be made.
