I don't see it as such an issue. I actually think an white skin tone suits Sera overall appearance better. While at the same time, I would never be able to phantom an white skinned Zevran.

The eye make-up kind of clashes with the characterisation from the hair, I think

I don't see any issue with her skin colour at all, and I think that any complaints are really unfounded. Lot's of stuff changes in design, so what does it matter if she's now slightly paler than in a few concept pieces? Especially when we already have black companions anyway.
I do agree about her hair being awful in that picture though. Not the style, just awful from a technical standpoint. It looks like a 2-dimensional sheet of gold tinfoil.

Wasn't Sera's original concept art from DA2 the one where she was pale white with a black ponytail and shaved head? I really don't think Bioware changes things around like skin color and hair to thwart their fans.

Like I said in the Sera thread, she has the hair of a german priest boy and because of that I'll call her "Hans".

I looooooove her, oh man! Can we have all the companions with us at all times? I have a feeling I'm going to lose my mind by October if I am this excited about a sentence and a picture, ha!
I'm really digging her vibe. Very much a "Chaotic Good" sort (even if the "good" is purely from her own internal compass).
Daww, I need my dark-skinned elves! Sucks there's only one black companion (and the others are pretty much white or lightened from earlier concepts). I'm going to love them all but it would have been much cooler with a little more diverse representation in that case.
I'd like to add that I think discussions of the heroes we'd like to meet or the different versions of those heroes presented is probably a fair discussion to have, so long as we're all still being cordial and sharing our opinions in a respectful way.

Sera's eyes reminds me of Barret Swatek who plays Aunt Ally in Awkward XD.

There is progress after all. They actually found a reason. Not a very good one, but hey! They are learning.

I had my doubts about her, but I'm glad see I was wrong.
She seems like Jack from ME2 based on that quote, and Jack was my favorite ME2 character so I'm very excited for her.
She's also gorgeous. ![]()

I'm not a fan of Sera's eye make up, but I actually love the hair. Different strokes, huh? Overall, I think she has the potential to be a great companion
I think the makeup is gorgeous.
I also don't have an issue with her hair being short (I generally prefer longish hair on women), but in this case it fits. Gives her character.

I think she is going to be pretty different from Jack, since she was the kind that would kill people for ratter trivial reasons, wereas Sera seems to be the kind that kills only those that had it coming.

Aww, come on now, I think it would be a lot more constructive if any criticism of models/outfit choices were made with specific details in mind. Hyperbole just comes across as aggressive. I don't personally love how the lighting on her hair is in the picture released but I'm hoping we see her in different light and in motion to really get a feel for how she moves and what her appearance is really like.

Her survey bio mentions Sera being from the city, which at this point sounds like either Halamshiral or (hopefully) Val Royeaux.
"In her network of rogues, what you do is more important than where you’re from, and friends open more doors than titles. Robs from the rich, keeps it."

I was already pretty sure Sera would be my go-to rogue before, and this screenie confirms it. Cool pants btw ^^

I like to customize armor/clothing appearances only because I am a big Star Trek and Comic Book fan. What I mean is I like my squad to look like a team.
This could be done with similar, but class appropriate, armor variations. This could be colors. This could be something as simple as heraldry or a sash or a cape or whatever.
Not being able to "Teamize" my squad is not a deal breaker however. Of course sometimes it feels more appropriate to look like a rag tag group, I certainly would say DA2 falls in that category.
