I need to find a way to compile several "chargenmorphcfg.xml" files in one, but I can't use that CharGenMorph Compiler PC file being on a Mac myself.
I played many PC games on my Mac in my life without any problems so far, as I always found a way around, even by rewriting files without any programming knowledge… as long as it was obvious what to do.

But here? I see nothing.

My kids and I've been kept playing DAO because of DAO itself in the first place, indeed, but also because of that inner character creator which allows us to create a brand new hero every time we want one, especially with all these most amazing cosmetic community mods around.

Without those? The original creator is just way to basic, near awful, for having any fun with.

I found 2 "chargenmorphcfg.xml Compilation" files around, but I realized the one I liked is so bugged to the point it's been making my DAO beautiful but! impossible to play lately, laggy as Hell, when the other compiler simply doesn't carry the mods I want.

What would be my best shot?

A good Compiler Guide for simple minded around?

A working Compilation?

Any idea?

I know my actual DAO situation for being most probably insolvent, but… I'm way too much optimistic to give up without a fight.

Thanks.

Hmm... that is a tough one. I use the Chargenmorph Compiler myself, so I've never had this problem. Also, I'm not a big fan of the "compilations" that other people make because if you use a different version of one of the compiled mods or don't want to use every mod in the compilation, you're kind of screwed. Plus, you don't know if anything went wrong during their compilation, bugs, etc.

I do know that you can edit the chargenmorphcfg.xml file manually yourself by adding the required mod info, and some mods even tell you how to do that on their description pages or in the comments section of that page. One mod I can think of that does this is More Hairstyles. I believe it has the info on how to manually add it to the chargenmorphcfg.xml file in the comments section.

That's about all I know. Hopefully someone else on here can give you more specifics. Best of luck!

Thanks, TheMadHarridan, that's already some help, along with some information here. The compilation would fall apart as soon as one of the concerned mods would be updated?  I see...

Well, I'm gonna dive into that sort of Compilation guide you mentioned

(look for Risibisi…)

Again, my very thanks.

I did it. And if I did, anyone can.

I manually edited my own "chargenmorphcfg.xml" file by adding a few other chargenmorphcfg.xml from mods I like to the copy of an original one already with that .xml ending to make it easy to save with TextEdit, just by copy/pasting whichever lines were different in the others compared to that chargenmorphcfg.xml I chose as a base ("More Hairstyles 0_51-392" in my case, which actually came already with the chargenmorphcfg.xml for "PTs Vibrant Colors 1_31-153" included), making sure I was pasting them at the end of the very precise parts they belong to.

I'm now running DAO with 6 different cosmetic mods, and it's not even laggy anymore, like it used to be with some wrong compilations, the inner Character Creator being finally the house of wonders it's meant to be.

My deepest thanks to Risibisi and TheMadHarridan.

Game on.

Yay! I'm glad you got it working. There are a lot of really amazing cosmetic mods out there, and I'm glad you get to use them. Do post a screenshot of your character for us to see. One of mine (my main canon character) happens to be my avatar. :)

My actual rogue, before my "chargen learning"…

I didn't even realized there was a possible "tinter".
'working on it.
Thanks.

Beside its beauty, there is another reason it took me some time to realize:

The fatigue (tiring) factor when the armor set is whole, seems to be even less than 0%, at least in my game.
Which make it my favorite armor for rogues and mages.

Blue tint it is, and white for Morrigan.
Merci!

From a compilation (only one chargen file to work on… ):

hairstyle day.

And I even used the simplest one in it, as I like things simple.
