Is Barrier less useful for Adepts than Fortification in SP? (Please Read)

What I'm asking here, is if there are some Biotic Bonuses that Barrier receives from Shepard's Biotic Mastery skill tree, because I haven't actually earned Barrier as a Bonus Power yet because I always loved Ashley more.
I sure hope its not the case where the evidence is pointing to because Barrier should be the Adepts go to for all those awesome bonuses, not a combat power like Fortification. :/

Sort of depends on what you want to do with it.
Fortification got the MP buffs when they were ported into SP with the last patch. So it has less cooldown penalty and higher damage resistance. It also buffs power damage so if you want to leave it active all the time, I think it is a better all around choice.
I would take Barrier if I wanted to use the detonation to ragdoll and prime enemies. I haven't done an SP run like this, but I recently started doing this on the Shaman in MP and it is a lot of fun.

BTW, Kaidan's most important contribution is Reave, not Barrier. So make sure you get Reave before dumping that playthrough. Also, if Shep is a Biotic, then Kaidan makes a great squad mate with Area Reave for priming combos.

But has anyone else but me noticed Shockwave got nerfed AGAIN in SP? It used to send three targets flying, now it only does two. When did that happen?

I didn't notice that.
But taking a look, it is set that way in Coalesced, I don't remember which was the last patch to actually change coalesced, I didn't think 1.05 did that.

coalesced.bin is a file in the CookedPCConsole directory that sets the value for various variables in the game. The shockwave max ragdoll targets is in there.
